With four No. 1 albums in just a few short years, Regional Mexico singer Gerardo Ortiz has ridden a tremendous wave of success to become the contemporary “king of corrido,” the style of narrative ballad popular in Norteño music. Ortiz’s blend of traditional and modern elements and his popularity among young Norteño fans led to a virtual sweep of the 2011 Billboard Mexican Music Awards, earning him six honors including New Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year. With the 2012 release of El Primer Ministro, Ortiz once again topped the Latin Albums chart, adding to his collection of hits with accordion-laced ballads about love and loss like “Mañana Voy a Conquistarla” and “Solo Vine a Despedirme.” Ortiz rose to overnight success in 2010 with the release of his major label debut Ni Hoy Ni Mañana, which landed in the Top 5 of the Latin Albums chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Norteño Album. Ortiz followed up with several chart-topping live albums and his second studio album Entre Dios y el Diablo, which peaked at No. 1 on the Latin Albums chart and included the hit single “Cara A La Muerte.” On tour in 2013, Ortiz has received rave review from ticket buyers for his rousing live concerts, leaving little doubt that a bright future awaits the young singer.
Excellent concert and great venue really enjoyed it!
It was my first time attending an event at Aragon Ballroom and I was just blown away with how well everything went and how organized they were. Definitely can’t wait for the next event there.
Overall the concert was great, but unfortunately the artist whom I bought my tickets for was a no show. Event coordinators did not even announce it to the public or apologized for it. Was really hoping to see Chuy Lizarraga which was why I bought tickets.
The dance was okay. But very unprofessional not to let people know chuy lizarraga was not going to attend until the day of the dance!! That's who i was going for.
I couldn’t not hear any. It was too loud to even understand any song lyric. Was not worth the money and regret even going. I have never experienced anything like this. We’ve been to 100s of concerts and nothing has been this bad. I wish and want my money back.
The reason I gave 4 stars is because he sang very little time like 40 mtos
Pancho Barraza was great performance. Gerardo Ortiz was a big disappointment. Not happy with his short performance.
Great show I loved it a lot. I would definitely recommend someone to go watch them live
Sound was horrible and low. My phone was louder then the system and quality of the sound sucked as well.
The artist were really good however the sound was horrible. I could not understand what they were saying.
It seemed like he didn’t know how to put up a show, he was running from corner to corner and wouldn’t stop, sound was horrible and couldn’t really hear him singing . I am not paying another penny to go see him again.
It was awesome will come to the next event that happens
Everyone started walking out in the middle of the concert it was a waste of time and money I wouldn’t recommended to anyone
I went to the concert expecting the show to start on time and for Pancho Barraza to sign for 1 1/2 and for Gerardo Ortiz to also sign for 1 1/2 . T3R to sign for 30 mins. I was really disappointed with Gerardo Ortiz performance .
I paid for front row seats and the seats were far away from the stage, i was elbow to elbow with people next to me . The artist i was looking forward to see only played like 3 songs. I feel like they rushed the concert as well with all the artists. It sucked honestly, not worth what i spent
I think that if a concert header is Gerardo Ortiz, he should sing more thank 40 minutes. No one wants to go to a concert and feel empty about spending $408 per couple to see that. Of preference, Pancho Barraza should have sang longer as well. It seems, you are filling in so that the main events do not have to sing very much at all. Also, Gerardo Ortiz, was not very involved at this concert, it seemed he was not very present.
The Banda was louder than Gerardo’s voice. You could barely hear him sing.
Great seats and great music. Dance the night away. Great venue for a concert
great performance well worth your money great drink service loved our seats
Love the show maybe need more restrooms cause the lines were long
