All I can say is I will be there next year. Can't wait. All the artist were beyond words. Didn't think I would manage to stay awake, but there is no way anybody could have fallen asleep. I wanted more. Mr. Veasley you out did yourself. Kudos to all !

    Amazing!!!

I go to this event every year and I am never disappointed. I love Mr. Veasley and the ease in which ALL the artists play off one another. It seems so effortless, yet they produce some mind blowing music off the cuff that truly amazes!! Looking forward to next year and will definitely put this experience in my ticket budget.

    Gerald Veasley was unforgettable!

by Key2keys on 4/19/15Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

GV teased and wowed the audience with his bass guitar skills. He was the mayor of the Midnight Jam! He knew how to pull in several other artists (old and new) to perform, and kept the audience engaged! I don't think the Midnight Jam would have been so amazing, if he had not allowed the others to be themselves!

    Outstanding

The midnight jam was… great!!! We’ve attended the festival about 4 times and this was the 1st time we went to the Midnight Jam… My only regret is that we waited so long to go, should have been doing this all along… An artist, Najee, would show up play for a while then another artist, Nick Colionne would come and play with him… Some of the guest artist I didn’t know by name but it didn’t matter, they were all outstanding. Plus we liked to ‘freeness’ of the artist laughing and joking around… nothing was scripted or a playlist already penned. Everything was freewheeling and fun. Next year we WILL attend more of the midnight jams. Funny moment: Gerald said to this young saxophonist (can’t remember his name but was real good), “Youngster I’m going to give you some advice. 1. Never piss in the wind. 2. Never tug on superman’s cape and 3. Don’t ever touch Nick Colionne’s hat”… lol. You had to be there to see the ‘hat exchange’…

The show was awesome! Najee was the highlight of my visit, a local of from Philadelphia, Carol Riddick was also a favorite. I enjoyed both nights of the show. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is because the venue was tight and cold.

    Could have been better

by Persnickety1 on 4/13/15Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

It was just ok with the lineup that was there it could have been a little modern jazz played. I felt like I was visiting the cotton club in the 20's not the berks jazz fest in 2015... Step it up next year please
