About

Since 1976, George Thorogood & The Destroyers have sold over 15 million albums, played more than 8,000 ferocious live shows, and built a catalog of classic hits that includes "Get A Haircut", "I Drink Alone", "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer", "Move It On Over" and the definitive badass anthem "Bad To The Bone". Now "one of the most iconic bands in rock & roll history" (Rapid City Journal) celebrates it all with their Good To Be Bad Tour: 45 Years Of Rock.

It's on tour that George & band flip the switch nightly, delivering what The Toledo Blade calls a "gut-bustin', guitar-wailin', face-meltin', take-no-prisoners, good old-fashioned lunch bucket rock-and-roll show". The Sacramento Bee says, "The Destroyers remain as they have been for years – Jeff Simon on percussion, Bill Blough on bass, Jim Suhler on guitar, and Buddy Leach on saxophone. They are without doubt one of the best touring bands in blues-rock history." Or as Rolling Stone once raved, "George Thorogood & The Destroyers play rock & roll hot enough to melt the polar icecaps and flood the world's major population centers."

George Thorogood was bad to the bone!

by Donnuchi on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

What an incredible concert! Charlie Musselwhite opened. Wish he could have played longer. Kenny Wayne Shephard came next. He shredded on guitar. Then came George Thorogood! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Rocking Hot!

by jessypi on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

George Thorogood and the Destroyers were amazing. Show was energetic and personalized for the venue and location. GT interacted with the audience and was not afraid to be himself. This band is all about the music and they brought their A game. Excellent. Best show I've been to.

    Doesn't get much better

by Rdhdharleygrl on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

What a show....I had the opportunity to see George Thorogood's show at Bonelli Park with the Harley Dealers Association and I have to admit George is consistant. I would of like to hear him play some other songs other than the typical standards....oh don't get me wrong "Bad to the Bone" is still my all time favorate, but having seen him before, I know there are plenty of other great hits. Oh and I have to ask, where did he get those dance steps....Simply a great show!!!!

slimmed down George rockin & rollin!

by dacap10 on 8/2/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

George was his usual rockin self, and he looks like he lost 40 lbs. since I last saw him. Kenny Wayne is almost a reincarnation of Stevie Ray, he gets better every time I see him. He is certainly capable of being the headliner! only small complaint for George, play some of your more recently released songs. The show as I remember it primaraly all your old classics. All in all a wonderful show!!

    Amazing!

by JWBH on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

From Charlie Musslewhite to Kenny Wayne Shepherd to George Thorogood.... Fantastic!! Why George Thorogood is not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall has to be one of the biggest recognition injustices in Rock history. He plays small venues and fills The Greek sized facilities because he is a true Rock musician and literally a Legend. You won't see many concerts where the crowd sings along with nearly every song like they do for George Thorogood! Wake up Rock 'n Roll HOF !!

    George is the man!

by rallytaff on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I took my wife with me and she thoroughly enjoyed listening to him for the first time. The Destroyers are the best I have seen and the whole package is awesome! Can't wait for him to return. Must also mention Charlie Musselwhite as the first warm-up act. What a blues harmonica player! Thank you Charlie.

    Great show, bad sound

by RockerDadfromthevalley on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

As expected George thorogood and the Destroyers were an entertaining and fun evening well spent at the Greek. The only drawback was the at best average sound system. in addition to simply not working during a portion of Kenny Wayne Sheppard's set the sound for the Destroyers was muddled and lacked clarity. It really detracted froman otherwise great show.

George Thoroughgood was so much fun!

by 32561974 on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

The venue is perfect for a summer night and the music was great. George's talent and sense of humor make for a fun evening. The stage decor was beautiful. The wide screens really helped, too. Wonderful evening!

    Opening Acts + George

by bearlythere on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

What a great event! Imagine seeing "opening acts" that are show stoppers - Charlie Musclewhite and the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band and THEN the best rocker left today - George Thorogood! A tribute to a great artist when he can call in such folks to "open" for him. Every act was truly awesome (I hate that word) - Charlie's harmonica - KWS guitar and vocals and then George - truly a great event on every level!

    Down & Dirty

by musicman09 on 8/2/11Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

To see Kenny Wayne Shepherd and George Thorogood in the same evening was absolutely incredible. Add in the Greek Theatre and a warm summer evening. Wham! Probably the best show in my last 20. Couldn't keep still. Kenny and George both rocked and stirred everyone's emotions with a double dose of energy.

    Very brief concert

by SDshaman on 8/2/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

KWS opened and played well; we enjoyed his set. GT came on and played 5 or 6 of the same old songs and the concert was over. Maybe George had to catch a plane or something, but we were left feeling shortchanged.

    Don't miss this one!!!

by MiniMig on 8/1/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Unbelievable show! George is ageless - rocks just as hard as he did in the '70's. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a huge star in the raw - his reading of "Voodoo Child" (forgive me!) channeled Hendrix & Stevie Ray, his "Everything is Broken" HAS to be the way Dylan would have wanted it to be if he had Kenny's guitar prowess. Don't drink alone - see these guys if you can!

Great Music but the volume was too low. We were in the back and had a hard time with the sound system. They need to turn it up.

    Thorogood/Shepherd is a terrific pairing!

by tommyblogger56 on 7/31/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

I mainly went to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd because I love his style, as well as the traditional electric blues genre, but George Thorogood turned out to be a better showman than Kenny - which is what I expected, since George has been doing this for so much longer. The entire event was a well-balanced blend of shred and bottleneck that I will not soon forget! The gain on Kenny's guitar wasn't really tweaked until the third of fourth song, but this was truly a great pairing; bring 'em on again!

    just ok

by Anonymous on 7/31/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Thorogood and his band just walked through the material without much energy. Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band were much better.

Kenny's 'Voodo Child' was truly phenomenal -- worth a ticket by itself! George was inviting and alive with spirit as always!

George & Kenny: A must if you like rockin' blues

by LonesomeJames on 7/31/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

This show was killer! Kenny Wayne and crew started their set to a meek response from the crowd, but after the best cover of "Yer blues" I ever heard, said crowd was on board and the band really picked it up from there. They got the people primed. George is like In-N-Out Burger: You know you're gonna get quality product every time! I've seen GT & the dual Ds about eight times and they've never disappointed. If you can't have fun at a Destroyers show, the problem ain't them. If there is one thing to critique, I wish they would've delved deeper into their rich catalog. Aside from a rousingly kickass version of "Gear Jammer", the set was entirely thier classic rock "hits" (which is what most people came to see, I'm sure). Nevertheless, I highly recommend

    Excellent venue

by Juanzelli on 7/31/11Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Great venue. Not terribly loud volume... actually, that may have been a little distracting. I would have enjoyed it to be a little louder. It was too easy to hear people nearby talking... continuously while the show rocked on. KWS played awesomely although not really sure why he doesn't sing the songs. I think they played for about one hour and the change to when GT came on was quick. George ruled the stage and had everyone singing along in the crowd. Great show.

    Electric blues

by GibsonBill on 1/20/11Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino - Mescalero

George has still got it. I recommend this show. Played most of the old goodies. George, go ahead and throw in some old blues numbers or some of your new blues - blues is where rock was born.
