You have to see a living legend. He is THE George Jones. Reasonable show, he does get tired easily but the crowd was still very impressed. Shortened versions of some songs. Actually the very best part of this show was the Conway Twitty opening show. It was AMAZING and well worth the price of admission alone. Still a must see as George is just a legend.
George Jones yet another fantastic performance. He sang songs spanning his 50+ year career with vigor.
The concert was better than I could ever have imagined. The voice, the songs...I never thought I would ever get the chance to hear him perform, and he didn't let me down. WOW, what a concert!!
This was my first time to see George Jones in concert and it was amazing! To be able to see a living legend perform his hits is a treasure. He sounds just as good "live" as he does on his cd's. I loved how he joked around with the audience and really got his band involved. Long live the Possum!!
George Jones didn't need all those fancy lights that all these new artist are utilizing now at their concerts. He continues to be as awesome as an artist can be. I really admired his down to earth personality . His music sounded amazing and the video he had up on stage just warmed my heart. I looked around and saw so many younger people yelling, cheering, and applauding for George Jones!!! Thank you for showing Corpus Christi a great show.
We truly enjoyed George's performance. However, we wished we were downstairs and not in the balcony so we could see him closer.
I wish he would have sang longer and it was funny because he seemed put out with the female backgroud singer. He seemed that he kept having the sound guys turn down her mike.
To see the legend George Jones was priceless and worth the money. His band was great, especially the fiddle player. No question, the these were all studio musicians. .
It was so surreal...the Ryman...the Possum...the Conway Twitty show before George...it was an incredible evening! Could have sat there and listened to George sing all night long...but he didn't...so I bought a CD!
there comes a time for everyone to hang their hat up and call it quits. George Jones may be a legend but im sorry he just doesnt have it anymore. His voice was staggered, raspy, even downright absent at times. A few times he literally told the crowd "i cant sing that". He had to take water breaks every couple minutes, kept talking to some tech guy about his earpiece, and just basic complaints youd expect your grandfather to start fussing about in his old age. i love George and have seen him in concert before but i think its a final curtain call for the Possum's tour career and even singing career. Hate to say it, but George, you need a rocking chair.
I took my husband of 25 years to his 1st concert for father's day, he told me it was the best gift ever. WE had a blast! We drove from the Houston area to Corpus for the day/evening and would do it again. The concert started right on time, George & Waylon were wonderful performers and everyone seem to be having a fun time. There was plenty of elbow room and on the floor level they had a bar set up to one side and not sure this was intentional but on the other side people started dancing. We absolutly loved it, been checking out the up coming concert events to go out there again! Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did...what wonderful memeories we have now.
I love the Ryman, love George Jones, and took a friend to experience both for the first time. I attribute the lame opening acts to the fact that it was CMA week, and the visiting hordes like that kind of crap. When George finally came onstage, the sound was so poor that we couldn't make out half of what he was singing. I can't believe I blew so much money on such a pitiful concert.
THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW GEORGE IN CONCERT AND I WOULD GO BACK IN A HEART BEAT!!!! HAD A GREAT TIME!!! THANKS GEORGE!!!!!!!!
This was a great show. I have seen him three times and he is always good.
It was a great show we loved it and it was awsome to see him in concert.....
George Jones was great, he is and always will be one of the " Voices " of true Country Music. I got the feeling Mr Jones Was not all that happy with some of his performance. My hat goes off to him, considering his age and all that he has been through I would thank the Good Lord that he is able and willing to still perform. This was my first live performance to attend, and I am very thankful I did. No one will ever even come close to filling HIS SHOES.
I would always come back and hear George Jones I will always come and see George Jones. He has always been good. I have lived next door to his daughter georgejette.Have connections to country music singers.
Awesome!! The Conway Twitty musical before George was amazing. George was great and when Jamey Johnson came out, I thought the roof was coming down!
The warm up act was better than the main event! Conway Twitty the Musical, even the shortened version was unbelievable! Every single performance was great from the start. Amber Hayes will be a star someday. Conway came to life on stage. George had some good moments but unfortunately showed his age. He has had a wonderful career. Still talented. Band was good as always.. Would go see him again.
