Edelweiss Cruise ship.... Organized by Fresh Coast Jazz Festival. Wonderful music, great jazz lover attendees, good food. Hope there is another Festival next year. Hope to purchase VIP passes.
A wonderfully intimate jazz listening experience. This is the place to be for jazz. Sophisticated city and people. No crazy crowds, no pressure, no lines. Just great jazz.
The cruise ship needs intertainment on both levels of the boat though, an food so that people don't have to wait so long to get food, an it also needs music on the upper deck as well. Hopefully next year will be better!
I tripped over this hidden gem as I purchased my one day ticket based on searching for tickets for 1 artist, Lee Ritenour. Then I found out too late, that this was more than a 1 day event. But, I picked my best day. starting off with hometown all-stars, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Following up with Ronnie Laws, pure, smooth sax talent. Playing two at 1 time, wow!!!!! And wrapping up that evening with Lee Ritenour who brought our special guess star, Milwaukee's own Darly Stuermer, Guitar and bass player from Genesis. Only wish he brought Dave Grusin. Meet the organizer, Carl, a very nice gentlemen.
First off, we misunderstood the "pairing" and thought there would be some snacks or cheese with the wines served. Then when promoting an Al Jarreau tribute it would be good to have a group that actually knew and performed his music. It was disappointing that they need to read the lyrics.
