About

In 2013, Moroccan-born French Montana turned nearly a decade’s-worth of street mixtapes in to a full-fledged rap career with the release of his debut solo album Excuse My French. Propelled by the success of singles like “Pop That (feat. Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne)” and “Freaks (feat. Nicki Minaj),” the album landed at No. 1 on both the R&B and Rap Album charts, firmly establishing Montana as one of hip hop’s brightest up-and-comers. Born and raised in Morocco, Montana cites soccer and rapping as his childhood hobbies. At age 13 he moved to the Bronx with his family, immersing himself New York’s hip-hop culture and showcasing his talent as a rapper through a series of mixtapes. Between 2002-2010 he would release a whopping 14 mixtapes, attracting the attention of legendary producers Rick Ross and Diddy, who co-released his 2013 debut on their respective labels. On tour in 2013, French Montana has been treating ticket buyers to extended live concerts of his most popular tracks, often accompanied by labelmate and collaborator Chinx.

    French Montana is irresponsible!

by Desi1021 on 9/10/13Mid Hudson Civic Center - Poughkeepsie

I surprised my boyfriend with French Montana tickets for our Anniversary and was extremely excited for him to see his favorite rapper who we also paid to see at hot 97 summer jam and was extremely disappointed when he only came out and performed for 5 minutes. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and went to his own concert expecting we'd see him for more then five minutes. Well we got to the concert and it turns out we paid to watch a bunch of armature rappers perform for 3 hours. People got tired of waiting for him to come out and a big brawl broke out. When he finally came out he came out drunk as a skunk with a half empty bottle of liquor and 3 hours late to his own concert. He performed for one hour and left after a horrible close to the show. I pretty much paid to watch a bunch of nobodies pretend they were some bodies for the night, and watch French Montana close the show. WISH I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK FROM THIS EVENT.

    French Montana was the truth!!!

by Onepunch on 4/18/13The Crocodile - Seattle

The venue looked small from the outside but it was even smaller than I thought it would be when we got in. It was because the stage was so large. They give the performers a lot of room to walk around on stage. The first floor was definitely GA (General Admission). I heard they were selling alcohol on the 2nd level but I didn't bother since I had a couple drinks before I got there. French Montana was about an hour late. My friend and I were hella mad but once he got there it was all worth it. Once we saw the huge French Montana tour bus outside we knew it was on. A lot of rappers suck at live shows w/out their autotune and other studio enhancements to their voice. This was not the case with French Montana. He gave a really good performance and was on stage for at least an hour. Chinx Drugz also came and performed with him. I knew he was either going to bring Chinx Drugz or Wale. The crowd was token up like a mug. The club was straight hot box for the whole performance.

Artist didn't have a large amount of songs that could be performed by himself alone. He displayed decent energy and also came with surprise guest but overall I was expecting more.

    French Montana was ok

by JoeFal on 3/15/13Masquerade - Atlanta

The first act didn't go up on state until 9:40pm and it was ok but not great. French Montana made it to stage at 10:45pm and he only played for an hour and 10 minute and had 2 guests. I wish he had started earlier and played more songs.

French Montana /Red Cafe turned it out!!!!

    by Monique80 on 4/2/12The Norva - Norfolk

I went to this concert Saturday and it was so live. The crowd was hype, the environment was nice and the entertainment was on point , the drinks were nice-shot out to the bartender who made me Hawaiian to go-best drink ever. The performers came a lil late but it was well worth the wait, it was really nice!
