    Freezepop at the Mercury Lounge

by Anonymous on 12/6/10Mercury Lounge - New York

First off, I'll start by mentioning Plushgun, the opening act. They were great. Good music and a pretty fun group. I may start looking into them. Freezepop is great at being accessible to the fans. They sold all of their merch themselves, and were right there if you wanted to talk to them before or after the show. Their on-stage presence is phenomenal. They have wonderful energy and they know how to work a crowd pretty well. Bananas and Christmas are a great addition to the band and they have a ton of fun on stage. The band played a whole host of songs off their new album (which is great by the way, but you can really tell that the Duke is missing. It's not a bad or good thing, just different.) and some old favourites like Brainpower, Bike Theif and Science Genius Girl. Some technical issues probably due to the Mercury Lounge's set-up got in the way a little, but they mostly just gave Liz and Sean a window to crack a few jokes. Overall, I love watching Freezepop do their thing, and they are a highly recommended act.

    Freezepop Forever!

by sarahpantz on 12/6/10Mercury Lounge - New York

Perpetually incredible. Amazing set list! Always worth seeing, even if the show starts at midnight and I don't get home until 4am. I'm still not entirely sold on Merry Christmas, but...Liz Enthusiasm more than makes up for her! And Sean T. Drinkwater is the man!

The mercury lounge was the perfect place to see this show. I had a good show and the both bands sounded great that night.

What an awesome night of music! While all the bands were great and played really well, I couldn't get over how appreciative Freezepop and Plusghgun were during and after the show. It was great to have them in Rochester...Finally!

    An energetic,

by QKate on 4/12/10Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

As always, Freezepop put on an amazing show. The setlist was a peppy, rocking combination of old favorites and new material (from a new album, hopefully forthcoming this fall). The band excels at entertaining and revving up the crowd while making the evening seem like a gathering of old friends. Liz E. and Sean T. were charismatic and adorable, and Robert John "Bananas" Foster and Christmas Disco Marie Sagan brought some welcome new energy to the stage. (The Duke was missed by this reviewer, however.) It was a great crowd for a Sunday night, and a good time was had by all.

    Freezepop was it

by Pcircle on 4/12/10Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

Out of all the bands. Freezepop still tops the list as one of my favorites. I hope they come back again. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a great band I've known for years... starting with FREQUENCY!! Science Genius Girl... that blew me away.

    Nerd-olicious Fun!

Superfun band! They sound great live and are good to the audience. SIlly, corny lyrics; cool stage setup, too. Totally worthwhile!

Better in person than on their albums

by Jandru on 3/29/10RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

I'm a fan of Freezepop, but not a fanatic. Most of their albums left me kind of cold, but after seeing them live I'm really looking forward to their new album. They played a ton of new songs and I loved all of them. All in all, a fantastic show, and the Red Room was a great place to see them.
