The young people in this production were clearly very talented and had worked hard to put on a quality production. that's why it is a shame the quality of the sound throughout the production was mediocre at best. I took my daughter and granddaughters (ages 3,8, and 11) and thought perhaps it was my hearing loss that was the problem, but in discussing it with them, they could not understand the dialogue and the orchestra overpowered the voices of the performers. Either the acoustics are horrible or the sound engineer needs to look into this problem. We all enjoyed the producti9on numbers the most because hearing words wasn't a concern. The dancing was great and chorus numbers also sounded terrific. All the solo numbers or any dialogue portions were frustrating each and every time. It's a shame becuase the community must have invested heavily to build such a magnificent facility. I've attended many stage productions both professional (New York, L.A. Denver. New Orleans, and Washington D.C.) and non-professional and when the sound is good it always enhances the audience's experience. If this flaw could be corrected, this would be an enjoyable production appropriate for all ages. However, without that correction,it was disappointing
