From t he opening chords, I felt like the guys still "had the touch". Granted, there have been personnel changes, but the current lineup of Foghat, including original member Roger Earl, sounded great, if not better than a CD. (Sorry, can't recall all names without researching). The event was "small", and it has to be "tough" for a group from the 70s to still continue to perform night-after-night, but they made it happen. Superb vocals, with a very strong lead guitar (former member of Wild Cherry). It was obvious (however the business is run) that Roger Earl will not let the Foghat name stray from their roots. The lead singer, formerly with Ted Nugent, had a solid voice and all the guys rocked My Babe, Stoned Blue, Drivin' Wheel, I Want To Make Love To You, Fool For The City and the encore of Slow Ride. While the small, quaint setting of Belterra is nice, is was not "good" for a group of this nature, although, the audience warmed up to them about halfway through the show. Keep playing the hits we love guys!
The "new" members (been part of 'em for years) are from bands I like, too: Humble Pie, Molly Hatchet...the sound is awesome. First time at this venue (Sevens) - I'll be back! Limited seating, buy tickets early for this "up clise and personal" place.
The band was terrific. The venue was fine. They could have turned the speakers down 1 or 2 notches. The waitresses were ugly and slow. They could have had some air blowing on the band. It was not a very long concert and the band members were drenched in sweat. Please make the band very comfortable so they will return.
It was awesome, awesome awesome! I have been a big fan of theirs for so long and can't believe I stood in the front row singing along with them!
