Great show, second time playing together and they sounded great! I'm hoping this is not a one off tour and that they will do another album and come back.
THE Super BAND ! The best musicians playing together. A must see. Despite a keyboard malfunction and Casey's guitar playing tricks (gotta change the tuners), they were perfect and seemed to have fun together. Will go to any of their future shows in NY.
A great show by these guys. They played their whole album plus some songs from the individual members pasts. I was surprised that this "supergroup" sounded so much like a new band proving themselves. So good. Too bad there was only two shows in the US.
The show was better than even expected. great show.
Great venue. Phenomenal band. Check 'em out if they ever come back to the US
I've been a Dixie Dregs fan since 1975. The flying colors show was a bust plain and simple. Steve is a legend!
Amazing musicians from different backrounds and genre's of music coming together to play what I call " Prog-Pop"... and mastering it in an awesome live show, with some Morse and Portnoy surprise songs thrown in to amaze and mystify with the progressive fusion instrumentals that have made them some of the top musicians on the planet... Steve Morse, Mike Portnoy and Dave Larue are monsters in music and will always be a pleasure to see live no matter what music they are playing....
My first visit to the Best Buy Theater was a very pleasant one...No hassle getting into the venue and I found the security staff very attentive to the well being of the patrons throughout the event & I felt very safe The show, Flying Colors, was of course a great success , how can you miss when great musicians get together... Jolly, a band unknown to me, was a real surprise, these guys can really rock the house, and they did! All in all, considering that I had traveled from Washington DC just for this event, I was quite pleased with the whole experience and I hope to repeat it again in the near future.
"supergroup" Flying Colors put on a fantastic show displaying all the chops and virtuosity that one would expect from such an accomplished group of musicians. They were super tight and loose at the same time. They featured all the tracks from their eponymous album, plus a few from the careers of the band members. What was perhaps most impressive was how well they played together considering the group has only recorded one album and has only been together for a few short months. I hope they continue to To tour and make new music together. If you're a fan of progressive music, get their album and catch a show
They played the majority of their new album. For their 2nd live show ever they were a absolutely in sync. Morse & Larue are like Montana to Rice in football; Ruth & Gehrig in baseball. Mike Portnoy on drums is like having Gary "the Kid" Carter behind the plate. Talkative with the crowd, charming, and charismatic throughout, he put on a clinic on powerful yet restrained drumming. He put away his usual 2nd bass drum he used in Dream Theater to better integrate with Flying Colors music. Biggest surprise was Casey McPherson, he has tremendous vocal chops and brings with him a number of his own songs. Overall a brilliant performance,
