About

For the past decade, Flume has been dominating the music world with his hypnotic and abstract compositions that awaken the senses. Born as Harley Edward Streten, the Australian producer has a fresh approach when it comes to building out an immersive soundscape that revolves around the pursuit of creative freedom. Stemming from a desire to do the opposite of what is typically optimized for the algorithm, Flume's technique involves weaving layers that are bound with introspection and intrigue. As someone who doesn't actively seek the spotlight for himself, he always makes his collaborators shine.

Following the massive success from his 2012 debut album, Flume's sophomore album, Skin, earned him a Grammy Award in 2017. In an effort to continue building the momentum, he released the Skin Companion EPs which received positive reception from fans and critics alike. Since then, Flume has embarked on headlining tours in stadiums across the globe and many of his singles have topped the charts while racking up billions of streams on Apple and Spotify. Right before the world shut down from COVID-19, Flume dropped Hi This Is Flume mixtape, which featured his contemporaries SOPHIE, JPEGMAFIA, slowthai, KUCKA, Eprom, and HWLS, and earned him another Grammy nomination.

On his forthcoming album, Palaces, the producer challenges listeners to switch gears and consider Mother Nature's point of view for a change. Completed during the pandemic after returning to his native Australia, the thought-provoking project reflects this transition as he reconnected with nature and developed an even deeper appreciation for wildlife. As the son of a horticulturist, it was only a matter of time before Flume redirected his path toward this lush territory. As expected, Palaces includes a star-studded lineup of collaborators including Damon Albarn, Caroline Polachek, KUCKA, LAUREL, MAY-A, Oklou, Virgen Maria, and Emma Louise.

Flume's talent knows no bounds as he further explores the vastness of his own man- made universe through complex arrangements and sentimental bangers. At this stage of growth in his career, he isn't concerned about getting any bigger-Flume just wants to maintain the energy that he's manifested.

    Flume is the GOAT

by Al the Pal on 5/8/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

Evwrything was perfect, the seats were a little further than I thought they would be, but that's my own fault. He brought out amazing guest, had fun openers, and had a set that went longer than I could have hoped. 10/10 would see again.

Amazing as ever, like back in the old days

by Paul on 5/8/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

He did a killer show for us, so much raw energy and amazing flow. We were lucky enough to post up next to the floor stage and got to see him open the show just a few feet away!

I’ve been following Flume since I was in middle school so finally being able to see him live was so surreal. Crowd was so nice and you can really tell how much his music brings people together. Loved it

Not as good as 2016 Shrine

by Bree on 5/8/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

Love Flume and how he remixed some of his songs. Luckily they were cool drum & base remixes and still sounded like the original. But also the overall sound system needed to be louder and more strobes like his 2016 show

    Damaged Control

by Vee on 5/8/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

The workers there need to be more strict. I paid money for my good seats and it’s annoying when you have these broke people coming down to your area blocking the stairs and / or sitting in empty seats. What did security do? Absolutely nothing. Might as well be a free concert at that point since we can sit and stand anywhere.

I love Flume.. he was great..

by CC on 5/8/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

But I thought that it would have been nice to have a more upbeat openers. I get that there’s a theme to the show but I thought it was a bit boring until flume had finally came out. Light show was also not as good as I expected it to be. I remember being stunned by his old shows and I expected more for his 10th year

    Underwhelming

by David on 5/8/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

I had higher expectations for a Grammy nominated artist. Especially one whose level of production on records is so high. The set piece blocked the LED wall behind him. There was little to no blending of songs and felt like he just played one song after another. They had monitor/in ear problems at times and it was very noticeable as performers had to take in ear monitors out (as well as program audio sounding off). Side screens could have benefitted from a feed of the graphics also — not just IMAG. Overall, it was not an immersive experience like other shows that similar artists put on.

    Lines lines and more lines

by Jessie K. on 9/19/22Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden - Boise

Flume put on an amazing show; unfortunately, the inability of Outlaw Field to accommodate the crowd really diminished the whole experience. Lines for the bathroom reached across half the venue at one point. Long lines everywhere you turn are a clear indicator that a facility is poorly set up to host concerts. Yes, lines for the ATM and venue parking could be avoided if you plan ahead; however, good luck if you want to drink or need to pee.

Flume was amazing, the venue ?? Meh.

by LaceyJane on 9/19/22Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden - Boise

Let me start by saying FLUME and openers blew our minds and put on an amazing experience. So blessed and grateful to witness. However, due to lack of outhouses at the venue I had to hold me pee in for most of the concert, until the encore when I could no longer hold it. The lines for anything were outrageous…. But to have to wait 1 hour plus to pee? Come on. Beer and water I’m used to, but bathrooms ? Anyways flume you’re amaZing. Outlaw fields? To preserve the historical Site better You would be smart to have more outhouses available at your next large concert.

    Flume is incredible

by Santa6654 on 9/19/22Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden - Boise

Flume's performance was insane. So good. The venue is also awesome - I like that the grass gives different levels of viewing so I (as a shorter person) could always see without being too far. I was VERY sad to miss Quiet Bison though, because judging by the way the names were arranged I thought he would be right before Flume. Also for some reason I had 2 different times for the event, so I arrived an hour later than intended. The worst part of the evening though was waiting over an hour in line for the ATMs. By the time I got cash, I didn't feel like drinking anymore so it was just a waste of time. For larger crowds there should be at least one more: ATM tent, bathroom area, and drink tent (not just one GA & one VIP for all of them). The food options are also always the same for every single Boise event, so it'd be nice to have some different vendors. But overall nothing dampened the experience. Great music, great venue, and good vibes!
