The Florida Chamber Orchestra, the Belen Jesuit Jazz Band, and the Latin Divos put on spectacular performances that made for a wonderful Christmas experience!
Beautiful show, excellent performance by the Florida Chamber Orchestra, the choir, the soprano and tenor, and the ballet. Thank you Miami Dade County Auditorium and Ticketmaster.
I was pretty disappointment not only with the concert but with the auditorium. The concert was mostly opera style singing and had hardly any flamenco at all. Out of a 2.5 hour concert only 20 minutes had flamenco, the rest was a choir singing with an opera singer, it was less colorful, and eye catching than I expected. The posters or photos used to promote this event are not the most accurate. The auditorium is in terrible conditions, the speaker on the left side where we were, was making noise the whole time like it was seconds from blowing up, and the theatre had big pieces of paint missing, probably due to water damage. It was not the experience I was hoping for. I'm not sure I'll be going back there.
The orchestra was too loud, thanks to having amplified the performance. So the music came out of lousy speakers. The soprano thought highly of herself but was less than average ( the tenor was much better). The choir lacked synchronization as much as the dancers. Although in this case the costumes helped to swallow the pill. The performance started at least 15 mn late as the people kept coming in and out with food and drink. Ticketmaster charged a high fee for selling two tickets ( 20%). Nothing to recommand!
The tickets via ticket center were a fiasco. Just hours before the event I was still accepting cancellations. The seats we wound Up with we’re horrible. The event itself was first rate. The venue is fine but folks in the mezzanine had to go to first floor for concessions. The lines were so long with only two concessions open I could not buy anything. Y for the venue was behind the church next door?? Overall not pleased
What a terrific and enjoyable evening. We need many more like it.
The Spanish extravaganza was an spectacular, motivating, exciting concert. Not only good music with a beautiful choir but also dancers and a gentleman that walked us through what we will hear and that expanded the enjoyment and the knowledge of the music and of the historical background on what was shared.
Performance was excellent in all fields: singers, dancers, conductor, and orchestra under Marlene Urbay direction. My only complaint is about the tickets: I was not able to find them in my iphone ( which I have done before in this same theater as well as in other ones) and I have to pay at the entrance $5 per ticket to be able to enter. All this after I showed at the IN CALL my receipt of payment, the order # and copy showing the seat #s. I was never able to print at home the bar code. It is a pity that my overall rating lower one point just because of management issues.
Excellent group of local physicians. Performance definitely worth the price of admission.
