It was a good production. I'll have to watch the movie again but from what I remember, I think it followed the story line. I thought the two supporting actresses, (the other 2 main dancers/singers) were GREAT, their voices were strong and I thought they made the show that more exceptional.
First, the show was pretty good, although a little corny. But, if you ever saw the movie, you know how it goes. The dancing was great and the music was alright. I got tickets from ticketmaster and selected "best available" for the least expensive seats. I don't know how they choose seats for you, but we got the very last row even though there were tons of empty seats. These were definitely NOT the best available. On another note, you do have a great view of the stage from ANY seat in the house. If you are over 5'5", your knees will be crushed into the seat in front of you; not comfortable! We moved to some empty seats in the far back left corner with an aisle in front of them to enjoy the 2nd half of the show. It was raining and the parking garage is not attached. There were lots of ladies in the restroom looking for air dryers (there are none). The theatre is very elegant, though not as beautiful as the Fox. Bottled water is $5!
The dancing was the best I have seen in a musical. Sound was off, they should have that working better after a week.
I took my wife to see this production because she loved the movie and is a hard-core 80's chick! She loved it and to my surprise, so did I. The production was witty and kept our complete attention the entire time. The only thing that would make it better would be the $9 drinks for a sub-par wine that comes out of a tiny little bottle that you can get for a 4pack for $9. Talk about a rip off. But the show was spectacular!
VERY talented singers and dancers--really stuck close to the movie. Amazing dance scenes! Loved it! Great costumes and set design, too--opera house is absolutely beautiful! Friendly concession staff. Need more women's bathrooms, tho.
Although the story doesn't follow the movie exactly, it's still very good!
I was looking forward to seeing this musical production but after all was sung and danced, I would have to admit I was disappointed. Over-all, the acting, voices and dancing were just average for broadway. Specifically, the audition dance scene needed to build to something outstanding in the end (such as Cassie's solo dance scene in A Chorus Line) and Alex and Nick's sexual chemistry glaringly missing throughout the production. I also thought the show abruptly ended, missing the build-up of their getting together. Most disappointing was the lack of at least one strong and moving song...although several would have been even better to keep you captive to the show.

My husband and I saw Flashdance at the Peabody on Saturday, January 12. We thought we would enjoy the performance, but we were overwhelmed. It was the best show we have seen in a very very long time. There was not one single moment that we were not totally enetertained. We could have seen the performance back to back. People of all ages would enjoy this.....a MUST SEE. Thanks to all the cast for a great show!
A great production, loaded with energy. The performers seemed to put it all out there on the stage for the audience.

The entire company was fabulous. The dancing superb, the singing incredible and the clarity of the entire production was amazing. I am an older person with hearing and sight issues and I did not miss a beat. Very well done.
You don't have to be a fan of the original movie...but it sure helps. My wife and I thought the show was outstanding. Edgy and in your face performances, costumes and sets. I have nothing but great things to say. Very well written with considerably good humor too. LOVE IT!
Three generations attended the show together, and we all enjoyed it. It was very entertaining and an enjoyable evening.

The facility was nice. The last time I was here was Nov. 9, 1968 to see the Doors.
