Fishbone is a band. Fishbone is Red Hot.
Starting in Junior High School as part of the bussing program transporting students to schools within or outside their local school districts as a means of rectifying racial segregation, Fishbone were breaking stereotypes.
This essentially was the spark that started the bands creative and influential drive that would lay the foundation that other bands would follow for decades to follow.
Born out of the punk rock scene of Los Angeles, CA, Fishbone came out as a force of songs and live energy leaving bands not wanting to follow them. A feeling that continues today.
Signed to Columbia Records in 1984, Fishbone released 4 albums and 3 ep's and toured the world headlining shows, festivals and leaving people stunned and still one of the best shows ever seen. A constant statement that still is used today from fans to artists that shared the stage with them.
After years of touring and rotating members, Fishbone in 2025 is back to their most solid line up which includes original members, Angelo Moore (vocals/Saxophone), Chris Dowd (Keys/Vocals) rounding it out with John "JS" Williams (Trumpet/Vocals) drummer, Hassan Hurd, Aroyn Davis and the return of Trace "Spacey T" Singleton on guitar.
With their last critically and fan acclaimed EP recorded produced by Fat Mike of NOFX that came out on Fat Wreck Chords in 2023, in 2024, Fishbone is getting ready to reclaim their live touring throne, leave the audience wanting more, thinking more, influencing younger bands, and paving the foundation and legacy they have been laying for decades.
With their latest single "Racist Piece of Shit" coming out ahead of the 2024 Elections and creating much controversy and praise as Fishbone ahs done for Decades, they will be following up with their new album, "Stockholm Syndrome" coming in early 2025 #FuckRacism
Fishbone brought out the funk!! They were on fire at the great venue, North Park Observatory.
Great show overall but main act (fishbone) set was cut 5 songs short due to curfew.
Fishbone was late getting on the stage. They had a banner that said "Fishbone; fuck racism." Andrew Moore was on lead vocals. They had a new guy playing keyboards. The drummer was loud and consistent. I don't know where he got the energy to play all those songs that intensely. They played for about three hours. The bass player helped out on vocals. The lead guitarist was not central to the band's sound.
Awesome show venue was spectacular with great acoustics. Fishbone kill that night just like I remember them doing 27 years ago when I saw them. They were tight and on cue just awesome sound plus gald to see fish on the drum kit his chopps were awesome.
Fishbone put on easily one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been to over 100 concerts in my life
Such a good show! First time the original lineup played together in quite a while, and it was pretty awesome. Hope they tour some more with this lineup - I would definitely see them again.
Scotch Bonnets were fun. Oxymorrons were incredible! Fishbone was red hot! Sound mixing was not.
It was great to see the (almost) original lineup after almost 25 years. They played some songs that I havn't heard them play in that long also. Great show as always with great opening bands!
Fishbone still has it. I wish they played in this area more.
Angelou still as entertaining as ever. This was the smallest venue I have seen them at and it was really phenomenal.
It was an excellent show! High energy and great music!
I have seen Fishbone many times in the last 20 + years. They always put out a great show! this time i was alittle disappointed because they didnt play the older songs . Its normally a fun , dancing , jumping seen but this show was more rap/rock. I hope they dont forget the songs we all love and come to hear.
Seen Fisbone many times since 1992. Always a good time. This show was fantastic and The Sinclair is a great little venue.
The band was on fire! The first song started off a little rough and there were a few issues with the mics and sound, but once they got going it was AMAZING! I wish I could see them again this weekend
Venue was intimate and not a bad seat in tha joint! Need to add sum more beer choices though.
The energy at this show was out of control. Everyone was moving and clearly having an amazing time. Downtown Brown opened, and they blew me away. I had never heard their music but have checked it out since. A unique, hilarious, and talented band. Fishbone was one of the greatest bands I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live. They clearly value their ability to perform as much as their ability to make awesome music. So glad I got to see them! And the Duck Room was the perfect venue!
Amazing Fishbone show, great venue! Fishbone is Red Hot!
My favorites !! Have seen Fishbone 5 or 6 times over the years and have Never been disappointed !
The first opening act Salita was good, they had a fair punk/metal set. Second up was Jakubi from Australia they had a funk/rap sound to them, really like them they a very good set, they also had the Zap Band thing going with the keyboards. Fishbone came on and once again blow the roof off of Sinclair there sound was too load! This is the second time I have seen them at this venue, last time my ears rang for four days after the show. This year they seemed like they phoned it in. I have been going to Fishbones show since the mid nineties and have seen them through down a great show! Last year was much better. I will be seeing them again when they open up for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones at the hometown through down! Hopefully it will be a better show!!!! :-)
Fishbone can still bring it. Great show and great energy..I was pleasantly surprised.
