FIRST AID KIT IN CONCERT:

With their pitch-perfect harmonies and expertly crafted arrangements, Swedish indie folk duo First Aid Kit have become one of neofolk's fastest rising stars, breathing new life into the genre with their minimal, mesmerizing compositions. Sisters Johanna and Klara Soderberg's achingly beautiful voices weave in and out of one another with an intimacy that underscores their sibling relationship, making their deeply personal songwriting all the more emotional and rewarding. The girls stunned with stripped-down renditions of songs like "Ghost Town" and "Emmylou" at their 2013 shows, building anticipation for their 2014 tour dates in support of their third studio album.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in suburban Sweden, sisters Johanna and Klara Soderberg began singing and recording songs together as teenagers, receiving their first radio airplay in 2007 when a local Swedish station picked up their demo "Tangerine." An EP released the following year would result in wider attention, after their cover of Fleet Foxes’ "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song" became a YouTube sensation, eventually resulting in a performance of the song alongside the band at a concert in the Netherlands. After making their full-length debut with 2010's The Big Black & Blue, the girls embarked on their first world tour, performing more than 100 shows on three continents. The band's 2012 sophomore album The Lion's Roar was an even bigger success, leading to a virtual sweep of the 2013 Swedish Grammis and setting the stage for the release of their highly anticipated third studio album in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This band lays it all out in performance. Klara and Johanna's dynamic on stage is as lovely and easy-going as their gorgeous harmonies. One of the highlights for me was when they went without mics for 'Ghost Town' and had the audience join in singing."

"Their voices are strong and beautiful. Absolutely wonderful performance, some great surprises."

"These girls are incredible live. I was blown away!! They are very talented and super cute. Loved every bit of this show!"

In the top 5 of best concerts I've been to

    by Seth on 7/18/23

I've been following First Aid Kit since 2010 but never got a chance to see them live. I missed out on the opportunity right before COVID hit and regretted it the whole lock down. Seeing them in Philly was cathartic. They did an amazing concert and their vocals were transcendent. The audience was all just as enraptured as we swayed and sang together. Would go hear them again in a heartbeat.

First Aid Kit! It was great to see these ladies live! Harmonies and guitars blazing! They were accompanied by a great band and the opener was awesome! This also is an amazing venue - not a bad seat in the whole place!

    I loved it so much!!!

    by ND on 7/17/23

First Aid Kit has been my favorite band since 2017. When people ask me why, I tell them how beautiful their voices are and how good their harmonies sound. I was going to see them when they went on tour in 2020 but that got shut down due to COVID. I was so happy when I found out they were coming to DC. After hearing how good they are in person, I don't believe all of their recordings do them justice! 100/10 positive concert experience.

    SOOO GOOOOD!

    by WackaMacka on 7/17/23

Why this band is not more popular in the States I do not understand. They are great! Loved the show and cannot wait to see them the next time they pass through.

This gig needed more than a first aid kit!

by Disappointed in Denver on 6/7/23Fillmore Auditorium (Denver) - Denver

The Fillmore in Denver was overcrowded. An audience member passed out and the steps down to the main floor were clogged with people. The sound was terrible for the support act and only marginally better for the headliners. The long line outside before the show seemed to take the Fillmore employees by surprise even though the show was sold out. We got in in time, but I’m betting a whole bunch of other people weren’t so lucky.

My third time seeing FAK, and they always put on such a magical show. I love how their sets are simple and plain so they can focus on their music. 💕 So refreshing.

    Wow!!!!

by Erkki on 5/27/23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

First aid kit was totally amazing the other night. If I was able to give six dollars for this performance, I would do so! Both of the sisters are so incredibly talented, and they have really picked back up band members to know how to play their instruments extremely well. Every single song was a hit. All of their melodies and harmonies are so incredibly catchy, and they really know how to write music. Every single song is potential hit in my opinion. One of my most favourite things about watching them live, which was the first time for me, it’s just how much fun the sisters are having with themselves and the band members. It is incredibly infectious, and it makes me smile from ear to ear! This is a group that has an incredible amount of talent and has so much potential to the point where they will last for years to come. All I know, is that I’m wondering when they’re going to come back to Vancouver! I sincerely hope it won’t be another five years, I can’t wait!

The sisters from Sweden are so unique and genuine. Had the VIP entry for an acoustic performance before the show. That was so cool to meet them in person! I love this band!

What an incredible show!!! I took my girls to their first concert and it could not have been a better experience! A family in front of us gave my daughters their spots in the front row (so amazing!!🧡) and that made it even more memorable.

Gourmet burgers and loud bathroom doors

by Malkin bowl guy on 5/26/23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Great concert setting, just two bones to pick for me. Why not serve some good food instead of cheap frozen burgers and hot dogs advertised as “gourmet”… Vancouver has great food trucks to choose from. During the most intimate part of the concert you could hear the slamming doors of porta-potties in the background, totally killed the vibe.

    Their Harmonies Filled The Forest

by Dono on 5/26/23Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Beautiful, soaring harmonies and captivating hook-filled songs had everyone dancing and smiling on a cool spring night in the forest. It was a beautiful set with the sisters trading leads, blending vocals and telling stories.
