Great game, horrible FIFA memorabilla set up

by FansofUSA on 6/11/15Winnipeg Stadium / Stade de Winnipeg - Winnipeg

The games were awesome! But the sales set up for merchandise was the worst I have ever seen. The lines 90 minutes before the first game were already at least an hour long because there were only two on the main level. There were two more on the upper level but there was a lot less stuff there, and they ran out of FIFA shirts before the half time of the first game! I know because I waited in line just to find that out. Really ridiculous.....

    World Cup - Go USA

by BlueDeacon on 6/11/15Winnipeg Stadium / Stade de Winnipeg - Winnipeg

Beautiful relatively new venue with great sight lines. Sat nearly in the back row and didn't miss anything. Concessions were overwhelmed.

    USA all the way!

The game was awesome! So much more intense in person than watching on TV

US Womens Team was gracious in Victory

by USAPhD on 6/11/15Winnipeg Stadium / Stade de Winnipeg - Winnipeg

I was surprised to see so many people cheering against the USA. The US women had to play through the bad referee calls to win this match. In a world that owes it's security to the sacrifice of millions of Americans it would be nice to see a little less jealousy, and a lot more appreciation for America.

The Canadians were extremely friendly. The venue was new and had great seating and amenities. The transportation options were well organized and very efficient.

    World Cup Soccer

by snagy53 on 6/11/15Winnipeg Stadium / Stade de Winnipeg - Winnipeg

Went up to Winnipeg to watch the 2 games played on Monday. Stadium is very nice and seats are comfortable. Food/prices are typical stadium fare, standing in line for FiFa merchandise...waste of time in my opinion, family in front of us waited 3 and 1/2 hours, buy online. We took advantage of the park/ride and it was great. Cost $5 per person but drops off in front and the short walk afterwards was worth it, the buses have the right of way so getting out looked like a pain. Be prepared for long border waits, ours was 3 hours to get into Canada and 50 minutes heading back to US. We enjoyed watching BOTH games, incredible!!!

    Veterans Take on Rookies

by olesoccer on 6/10/15Lansdowne Stadium / Stade Lansdowne - Ottawa

For Thai and Ivory Coast - welcome to the WWC. I expected a blow out on both games and got my expectations full filled. No grand opening and lots of frills from the Capital of Canada. Lots of places to eat along Bank St. No parking at the sight I took the bus from one of the further out locations - cost none. 11 Jun will see GE and NOR - both previous cup winners do battle for the winner of the group. My prediction - GE 3 and NOR nil

Great experience! Beautiful stadium. Made several new acquaintances! The game was not competive but the atmosphere more than made up for it.

by Wiess on 6/10/15Lansdowne Stadium / Stade Lansdowne - Ottawa

For the price I paid for the 2nd row off the pitch and two see two games for the price of one was an amazing deal! Everyone was so helpful. Overall great experience!

    Needs better organization

by 66Roadrunner66 on 6/9/15Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Having been to every Women's World Cup ever...China '91, Sweden '95, USA '99, USA '03, China '07, and Germany '11 I was looking forward to the opening match! Unfortunately, several things dampened my enthusiasm. Firstly, I have never heard of a stadium which seats 58,000 people which had no parking. Secondly, a stadium that large only has TWO entrances for fans? Gate 6 and Gate 13 were the only ones open so many did not get in by kickoff. Thirdly, Opening ceremonies was a series of badly lip synched songs...why was Sarah Mclachlan left all alone for her song without any dancers, musicians, NOTHING! It looked very odd! After that, it became more colorful. Lastly and sadly, the Canada team I expected to see never showed up. The play was lackluster...which gives other teams in Group A a lot of hope! I wanted more from the hosts...oh well...I still support Women's soccer!

    World Cup synopsis

by MizzouMafia on 6/9/15Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Overall not bad. Too crowded at the concessions but there were 53k people in attendance. Would have liked to have seen more vendors coming through the stands. Expected more in the opening ceremonies, but again overall it was worth the trip as it was a once in a lifetime thing.
