About

Sure, life's a risk. But FIDLAR have proven that risks are worth taking. Starting out as a group of drunken punks playing gnarly house shows around Los Angeles, their fanbase exploded and congealed into "FIDIOTS". Fan's who show their dedication to both the band and their mantra of "fuck it" by etching "FIDLAR" onto their bodies by way of homemade stick-and-poke prison style tattoos.

With songs like "Cheap Beer" and "Wake Bake Skate", the light speed rocket that was 2012's eponymous album blasted them into the stratosphere where they had the room to expand the idea of the band. Being thrust into the loneliness of space, they were confronted by the void and slog of touring. They responded to that introspection with 2015's "TOO", where songs like "40oz On Repeat" "Why Generation" and "Sober" grapple with how to age gracefully as hard partying punks headed towards their 30s.

"Too" pushed the band further to the edges of their comfort zone where these four SoCal weirdos found themselves playing gigantic festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Reading and Leeds. Propelling them to refine and expand their sound with 2019's "ALMOST FREE" where you can start to hear more than just their "punk and indie" influences. The Beastie Boys tinged "Get off My Rock". The asphalt-groovy take on L.A. hipster culture "Can't You See". And the alterna-pop, radio friendly, heartbreak duet of "Called You Twice" featuring grammy nominated artist K. Flay.

But that was in "the before times"... During the pandemic, unable to tour as a band, the guys all separately dove into their own pet projects and they all experimented with different styles of music (sometimes with the aid of psychedelics). Unintentionally, this caused them to shake off the impulse to layer "bells and whistles" (not literally, but kinda) to their songs. Like they had been doing progressively over the years. Now, after duck-diving the choppy waves that is the modern music industry, FIDLAR are ready for the next gnarly set.

Armed with 3 Chords, the truth, and some jazz cabbage, FIDLAR has a new found appreciation of not only where they came from, but where they are now. And when asked what the new sound is, the response is simply "FUCKBOI ANTHEMS."

Well then... fuck it, dawg. Let's get weird.

    Amazing

by Andrew on 1/29/19Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

This band puts on a really good show, they are funny and know how to interact with the crowd. They play their songs faster than the record which in my opinion is way better and is better for the mosh pits. 10 out of 10 I would see them again.

    A Night of Fun

    by E. C. on 1/29/19Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Everything about this show was non-stop fun. Sideeyes came out first and got the crowd moving. Afterwards No Parents went on stage and had everyone dancing and laughing from their performance. Once Fidlar came out on stage the whole floor completely filled and sang along with almost every song including the new song from their new album. If you like Fidlar you have to find a way to see them live. If you never even heard of Fidlar but like surf punk, alternative rock i still recommend them because they play with so much energy you will end up enjoying all their catchy songs.

    Fidlar at Teragram Ballroom

by Cuate on 1/29/19Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Fidlar rocked the house on Saturday night at the Teragram Ballroom. From the opening song to the show closer, the energy was high. There was also a little advice provided by Fidlar on Stage Diving 101.

    Fidlar was dope as usual

by meaculpa20v on 10/7/17The Fillmore - San Francisco

First and foremost, the Fillmore in SF is a classic. I love catching gigs there. I feel like part of history. The space is nice, not too big, not too small. The stage is a nice height for the space. This is my third or fourth time catching Fidlar in concert. They are still great. A lot of fun. I am happy they kept that young punk energy I loved from their first album into their sophomore. I dig their relaxed and free spirited stage presents. I personally, wished they could have played a bit longer but punk songs are short and sweet and I understand it's tiring to do it night after night. The mosh pit was a great atmosphere even though most of it's inhabitants were probably not even born when I first started going to punk shows, haha. BTW, LOVED the all women mosh pit.

Came for Swmrs, stayed for The Frights

by RamonaBeachGoth on 11/17/16Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I didn't know much about Fidlar prior to the show to be honest. I came to see one of my newest favorite bands, Swmrs and was overwhelmingly excited to hear they were just as good, if not better live than on their album, Drive North. In addition, Swmrs are great to see live because it is clear they are passionate about music and life and their fans and their country, and just great vibes and a lot of love from them exuded to the crowd. The Frights were the same way in the aspect of sounding as good live as on their albums. I liked their surf-rock/punk/alternative sounds, and they really got the crowd going too. Fidlar was great and energetic, and I'd likely see them again, thought not as much my style, and didn't love all of their songs i.e. Cocaine, Rehab.

    Great band, great venue

by mugsy2442 on 6/4/15Paradise Rock Club - Boston

FIDLAR can kick some ass. Loud punk songs but written well enough that they will have you singing along to every tune. With songs about drugs and alcohol, its the perfect setting for getting f'ed up and partying. Venue is great, clear sight lines, all GA, upstairs balcony, reasonable drink prices. Best part is they let you go in and out as you like for a smoke....which allowed me and my buddies to run into Elvis from the band and hang out for a bit. Show was all ages and ended a little early but that didn't hinder the experience at all. In fact I enjoyed checking out the freshman collage girls and getting home at a reasonable time considering I was coming from 45 minutes away.

Best live show i've been to

by roydude on 5/29/15Bowery Ballroom - New York

Simply amazing. I got there a few songs in to METZ's set, and I wish I had been there earlier because they were amazing. Such high intensity, the drummer was sick, the lights were sick, it was great. Then FIDLAR came on and that was insane. They played a lot of new songs which was really cool and they also played one really old song which is awesome. I had the most fun I've ever had at a concert there. They really show that they're having fun too which is great. During the last song, the bassist jumped into the crowd and started moshing around with us while still playing the bass part to the song. I dont know how it didnt get unplugged but whatever. I had fun.
