If you have been to Burning Man you will be disappointed. Not much fetish wear. Not many serious costumers. Lots of packaged costumes, not much creativity. Mostly suburban folks from So Cal. Lots of sexy girl cosumes like Alice, Dorothy, Coyote Ugly, Pussy Cat Dolls. Lots of trim bodies, pretty girls. Mostly typical guys in standard costumes, with a few beautiful scantily clad male bodies. Come on, guys, your girlfriend is wearing two 6 inch strips of spandex, and you are wearing a Fred Flintstone sack over your body?
If you wear a fabulous costume, people will look at you, buy you will rarely get a "Nice costume" comment. This is a huge contrast from the other Halloween parties that I attended. My costume started hundreds of conversations at other events, but in this one people wanted to be spectators. I think this event is advertized as a place to go to see sexy costumes, so people just looked and took photos of me.
The event takes place in multiple rooms. The movement from one room to another was difficult and the event was poorly layed out. Narrow halls for the amount of people, and doorways were crowded. No logical flow pattern.
The Joint was the most interesting room, with DJs and acrobatic performers. Some of the acrobats were very good Cirque type performances. Most DJs were local and had limited excitement.
Another room was full of large tables and a stage with limited entertainment. Lots of people sitting, looking bored. Some vending booths, but nothing fun to look at. Very poor shopping experience. It could be fun it this room was full of booths selling fetish wear, costume components, sex toys, bondage gear, music and other fun stuff. Poor traffic flow,
You can see more sexy costumes in any casino that has a costume contest, and not have to push your way through crowds in narrow halls.
