Fela! WAS AMAZING! The cast, the music, the dancing...GO SEE FELA!

Fela! was fabulous. Exciting energetic music/dancing, powerful acting, moving true story. This touring production features the original Broadway & London leads and most of the original cast. The lead actor is very powerful. Don’t know how someone can deliver 99% of the lines and do all of that singing, night after night.

Wonderfully entertaining. A must see, you will not be disappointed.

It was high energy and has a good message but has a poor delivery of the message. I was really annoyed when the main actor lit a cigarette and blew smoke into the audience. Neither I nor my husband smoke so it really bothered us. Also the dancers are good at shaking their derrieres but couldn't make high kicks or display any real athletic ability. They should have put in some cartwheels or something, anything. It became boring and we left during intermission.

Enjoyed every moment of it! The story of Fela's life was very interesting! The music was AMAZING!!! Couldn't stop dancing in my seat!

THIS SHOW WAS DYNAMIC ! THE DANCERS WERE AMAZING AND THE LEADS VOICES WERE AWESOME! ONE OF THE BEST MUSICALS I HAVE SEEN IN MY 75 YEARS!

A must see show. Broadway in Detroit. The music was awesome. The dancing inspiring. What a wonderful show, but not for younger audiences.

I love afrobeat and Fela's music, so I may be biased in thinking this was one of the best celebrations of his music and legacy I have seen. The music is uplifting, the dancing is celebratory and sexy, the Shrine setting had me imagining what it was like to live in that time-preriod and loving how he responded to the socio-economic oppression and violence surrounding him by creating a sound that would resonate across cultures and generations. If you are unfamiliar with him, this is a nice history lesson packaged in a great experience. Recommended to all.

Amazing show and fantastic music. A completely engaging performance. I was somewhat familiar with Fela's music and now am just hooked.

I went to the 2:00 PM show on Saturday the 18th of Feb. 2012, the show told Fela story well and all of the cast was full of energy, sexy, and fun. I enjoyed it and recommend this to any one of all ages.

Very entertaining. I loved how the lead spoke directly with the audience and interracted with them while remaining in character. The Lighting was superb and complemented the music and scenes. Dancers were professional and graceful. I loved it and has recommended it to my friends. I wish they played a lot more of Fela's popular songs and kept it as close to the original as possible. I noticed one or more songs from Fela's son's album. I wasn't impressed.

This musical was excellent!!!!!!!!! I am so glad I didn't miss it. The dancing was amazing. The music was electric, it made you move!!!! I am forever a Afrofusion fan after seeing FELA!

The mother was awesome with her singing. The FELA actor was tremendous. I don't recommend having middle school and under children unless you allow them to listen to that kind of language. Other than that the show was amazing! Love the subtitles and the explanations. FELA's family went through a lot. Loved hearing his story! The costumes were amazing and loved the colors.
