  • Feist is Feisty... and I love it.

by AnonymousIII on 6/13/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I cannot tell you how amazing Feist was. Her voice blew me away, it was so ethereal and surreal that she surpassed all my expectations (that were set ridiculously high). Her setlist was outstanding - incorporating just the right amount of new songs with old and the fact that she came out for a second encore was unreal. I will never miss a Feist show. She is truly the best musician I have ever seen live.

  • Disappointed

    by guitarfan88 on 6/12/12Music Center at Strathmore - N. BethesdaRating: 2 out of 5

I saw Feist in 2006 at Ramshead Live in baltimore and loved her show. I kept checking to see when she might tour out my way again and was thrilled to find her at the Strathmore. I bought my ticket early, and ended up on the floor row H out on the side. The night was frustrating because I could not hear Feist . The drums came through and some of her guitar but her vocals were obscured. When several of us independently called out to turn her up, she chided us for not being nice! It seemed that much of the audience could not hear her as they were not singing along much, a distinct contrast to her performance at Ramshead. I left after 40 minutes when it becme apparent her sound crew was not going to bring her mike up and the evening would be spent straining to hear her beautiful voice. I sat at the back of the auditorium for a couple minutes to make sure the audio was not better there, but found it was not. The saving grace of the evening was i could buy Feist The Reminder on vinyl!

  • Kind of wierd behavior

by surfingexec2001 on 6/12/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Over the years I have attended shows where the artists has been 'off' or 'obtuse' or suffering through a 'bad moment'. At this show, Feist and her band were impeccable in terms of their musicianship and showmanship, but Feist's between song banter was distracting and not entirely complementary to the performance. My impression is that she was taken aback by the less-than-full house audience but it was hard for me to tell. The bottom line was that Feist came across as if she were bothered by something related to the show or her visit to Raleigh in general. I've seen more than a few great performers side track a show to the point of distraction or simply cratering--a Joe Jackson and a couple Bob Dylan shows come to mind. So the show was 'okay' but might have been a lot better if Feist explained herself a bit better or simply contained her emotions and between song banter.

  • Feist is a true performer

by Deepak88 on 6/12/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Feist was Amamazing! I bought the tickets to the show not knowing who she was or what she sang, but it turned out she was a true performer. She really got the crowd going and we had a real good time. And the venue; Radio City Music Hall, really completed the night. So plush!

This show was fantastic! It was wonderful to be able to sit down and watch them rock out.

  • Amazing show, great venue

by 8121817 on 6/12/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing Feist show at Radio City. Even though people stood for long stretches of the show, the venue's assigned seating helped keep the craziness to a minimum. Radio City's acoustics were set perfectly for her rich voice. And to boot, she's charming and has a good sense of humor.

  • Lesley's voice was like sweet, sweet honey

by MusicStreett on 6/12/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't overly excited to go to the show. I was looking forward to it, but I wasn't expecting it to blow my mind. But it did. And it was awesome. Recordings of Lesley's voice don't even begin to do it justice. There are so many layers and textures that she effortlessly pulls off that the recordings don't pick up in all their glory. Hearing her live really made me appreciate the music more and I'm a HUGE fan of her work. If you have the chance to go see her, SEIZE IT. A big shout out goes to Mountain Man...they were amazing as well, and far more than just "back up" vocalists. If you haven't checked out their stuff and you're a fan of Feist....do it!

  • Feist is feist-astic!

I think the title says it all... but apparently my review is too short so I'm writing another sentence.

  • Girl- Next- Door with entrancing, enormous talent

    by composer1 on 6/12/12Music Center at Strathmore - N. BethesdaRating: 5 out of 5

"Enchanting" is a word I rarely use, as is "riveting;" but Leslie Feist is both. She nearly disguises the transcendence of her music with an engaging stage presence and elegantly down-to-earth aura. Finding a unique combination of pop, rock, blues, jazz, and folk, this gifted artist surprises with startling twists and turns throughout each of her original musical vehicles. Her band---three excellent, disciplined musicians--are strapped, wrapped and surrounded by various instruments. They never intrude--or solo (!), but instead dedicate themselves to a rigorously rehearsed and carefully crafted presentation. They are joined by a sweet trio of female vocalists, named "Mountain Man," who pipe supporting harmonies that range from the gorgeously angelic to the tragically other-worldly. These are all elements that set off her greatest gift-- her voice. She is the Ella Fitzgerald / Sarah Vaughn of pop/rock. Her deeply expressive vocals are capable of so many rhythmically-driven textures and timbres that each register seems to be her very best. Enormously gifted, she is able to use her vocal expertise with a pervasive improvisational element that gives listeners the sense that they are hearing each song performed for the very first time.

  • I would see Feist again tomorrow!!

by Skarlett on 6/12/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

First off, even though the seats weren't great, Feist's amazing performance made it all worth it. Her songs sound even better live than they do on the album, and she was energetic and funny, even involving the audience in her performances!! The opening act, Timber Timbre was regrettable. Any song that talks about decaying flesh or whatever, I can do without. Also, creepy animal sounds belong in a haunted house, not Radio City Music Hall. It was a looong hour. But Feist was really cool, and the songs were beautiful and well-performed. Given a better opening act, and a better view, I'd be over the moon!

I think she should do smaller venues that are more personal. Her style of music is best absorbed in smaller venues.

  • Feist was fantastic

by Anonymous on 6/11/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Feist was one of the few performers that sounded better live than recorded. Her voice is perfect, and she's is very personable.

  • by IamMcBain on 6/11/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Since I don't have much time to write I'll summarize in one word: FABULOUS!

  • Feist is amazing!!!

by LPOS on 6/11/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to too many shows to count and have had the opportunity to see acts from across the board. Feist hands down, no question put on one of the most incredible shows ever. No fuss, no muss, just pure musicianship at it's finest. She sounded flawless and beyond that, was able to turn an iconic venue like Radio City into a living room jam session. I've never witness a performer more open and welcoming to their audience. She is a class act all around and has musical chops that put the majority of "pop stars" to shame. Go see Feist!!!!

  • Feist was awful!

by Dwave on 6/11/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

Too bad she copped an attitude due to poor turnout. Didn't play '123'. Repeatedly talked about how the Raleigh show was having a bad day at work. Without a doubt, the worst concert I've ever attended. Ms. Feist has a lovely voice, but really sold her fans short that night.

  • Feist was fantastic

Feist is a remarkable performer -- I expected her to be good -- but she was amazing

  • Feist Concert in Raleigh

by snakesss on 6/11/12Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Talk about talented !! Feist plays the guitar and sings with the most incredible, meloldious, mesmerizing, voice. I loved, loved, loved it. I will see her again if I have the chance. The back up singers were amazing as well. The venue was great (Progress Energy Center).

  • I could listen to Feist forever

by Anonymous on 6/11/12Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Leslie Feist has an incredible stage presence, and her voice sounds even better live than on her already excellent sounding albums. One of the main reasons I attend concerts is to revel in the musician's shared passion for their songs and performance, and Feist definitely has that passion deeply rooted in every note, sang or strummed.
