    An Intimate Theater Experience

by Diviner on 2/21/16FAU - Theatre Lab in the Parliament Hall - Boca Raton

This was the surprising opportunity to discover a new source of great theater in Palm Beach County with FAU's Theater Labs production of Peter Segal's Mall of America. The intimate setting, talented ensemble of actors and the presence of Peter Segal's himself made for a memorable evening. Bravo!

    Loved every minute!

by JoGo358 on 1/25/16FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

This was one of the most enjoyable chamber performances I've ever been to. It was small and intimate and their playing pulled me in immediately and delighted every sense. Heather Coltman was mesmerizing and superb on the piano as was the very talented cellist Jason Calloway. They were engaging and gave the audience a background into the chosen pieces of music with insight into various stages of Chopin's life. They delighted us with humor in certain moments and very poignant stories about Chopin and Franz Liszt. The concert was almost 2 hours of heavenly music which was played to perfection which kept me in my euphoric state the entire time. I didn't want to leave. In my opinion, I would've paid much more to see them - It was just that good! I hope they'll continue to play other composers at this venue in the future. Bravo to them! Standing ovations were well deserved.

by SarahB2015 on 12/16/15FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

Excellent performance. Thoroughly enjoyable! The soloists were top notch and the choir sounded great. Great way to start the Christmas season. And what a beautiful piece!

    Nutcracker with the Duke

by sylphil on 12/15/15FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

I love the FAU Jazz Band and especially Kyle. He is so much fun to watch. I had trouble listening to the singer. The band drowned her out. She also reads the words that she sings which turns me off. I think she should memorize them. The auditorium is wonderful and my seats were great. However, I am more traditional. I prefer the original Nutcracker music that is performed with the ballet.

Best presentation of the oratorio ever! Small orchestra and manageable choir the way it was meant to be when written. BRAVO to FAU!!!

    Not worth the money

by LRG727 on 12/7/15FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

This should have been a free event. It started 25 minutes late. Plus loads of introductions. These students tried hard, & they were pleasant. Very far from professional. Will not attend an event like this again. It is nowhere near the standards of other events we have enjoyed at FAU.

    An emotional experience!

by Romeo46 on 11/23/15FAU - Studio One - Boca Raton

Notwithstanding the demands of the three roles, this cast played their parts with such a meaningful performance. Even when it was time to take their bows, one could still see the emotion in their face and body expressions. That's a first for this theatre goer.

    FANTASTIC

As fascinating as the 3 plays were, having the playwright there made the evening AWESOME!

    very good show

by abigtennisfan on 11/14/15FAU - Theatre Lab in the Parliament Hall - Boca Raton

I did not know I was going to a reading. Had I known, I probably would not have attended. That would have been a mistake. The play was interesting and the 'actors' made it come alive. A very timely theme.

    Amateurish

by Operalover20 on 10/14/15FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

This group of college students sounded more like a bunch of High school freshmen who got their hands on their instruments just moments before the event. Their instruments were out of tune and they were out of sync with one another. I left before it was over as it was hard to even listen to them. I expected better than that from FAU.

    Sousa Spectacular was very exciting

by ForEmp90 on 10/1/15FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

My only complaint is that the soloist, Edgar Abreu, sang only one song. On the program it said he was to perform 3 songs. After the first, which was absolutely marvelous he did not return at all. The orchestra played some little tune instead and it was so disappointing. I was looking forward to hearing Mr. Abreu sing La Donne Mobile and You Raise Me Up. What a disappointment plus there was no explanation for why the songs were omitted. Other than the above it was a really entertaining show.

    Perfect pianos and percussion

by nanacooks on 9/24/15FAU - University Theatre - Boca Raton

The skill level of all the musicians was indeed amazing. Each selection was perfectly suited as a vehicle for the performer's strengths.
