Fallen Angels, English at its very best

by RedRascal on 4/11/10Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

Beautiful set. Excellent acting. Noel Coward was a master of the English language and his mastery was on full display in this play. The cast, especially the two principles, clearly had a good sense of the era in which the play transpired, yet seemed to meld with this the comedic timing necessary for contemporary audiences. This play should not be missed by any theater aficionado. I have noticed that schools are encouraged to schedule their students. I agree. All high schools should bring there students to see this play. Far more enriching than anything at the local multiplex.

Overall show was entertaining, however first two acts were were a little boring. The third act was funny and saved the show.

A simple, well executed play. The actors and actresses were excellent in the roles, especially the females. A fun light afternoon treat!

I took my teenaged children to see Fallen Angels. We all thought it was very well done and funny. It is definitely worth seeing.

    Okay show

by 42homestead on 4/2/10Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The show is wordy and at time slow. The 2nd act is it's highlite as the leading ladies are terrific. I would recommend the show to anyone who likes Coward but be aware that there are 2 intermissions that make the show longer than it should be.

    Amazing Permormance!

by Jennifer36 on 3/29/10Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The actors were fantastic! We wished we could watch the play all day. Especially the actor who played Jane- she was wonderful to watch- so good!! They did an excellent job. The only thing negative was the Walnut street theatre was an ice box the entire time- they keep it was too cold. Very uncomfortable to watch a show.

    Fallen Angels

Well done. Cast was great. The scenery was great. Even though it was a play from the 20's it was very current.

Good Play. Charming, witty, and funny.

by ipswitch on 3/22/10Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The Play was very good, the actors did a wonderful job.- One Actress really stole the show- Julie Eisenhower did extremely well... The show most likely would not have been a hit with out her. Way to go Julie... This show was short and it did have to many intermissions. one would have been enough since there was not much to changing the set inbetween. Our Seats were in the center of the UM - 2:00 Matinee (Our 1st time at a Matinee) It was a little hard to see and really had to listen. (Walnut Street Theater) - most likely would not go to a Matinee again as there were many older folks- (alot of chatting, caughing, sneezing and unwrapping of candies or something). I prefer the evenings and will continue going to theater only in evening.

    forgettable

by denny1960 on 3/21/10Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The acting in this play was fair and the story was silly. I have enjoyed a few performances at the Walnut street Theatre but not this one.
