    FAITH WAS FANTASTIC

by IOWANINCA on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

FAITH AND THE HOLLYWOD BOWL ORCHESTRA WAS A GREAT BLEND OF ENTERTAINMENT. HER OWN SONGS AND A FEW BORROWED GREATS, HIT THE SPOT FOR AN EVENT. WE WERE A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED AT THE CROWD NOT GETTING INTO THE EVENT. MAYBE TOO STUFFY OF A CROWD FOR A FAITH HILL EVENT. WE ARE USE TO GETTING UP AND INTO THE EVENT. PEOPLE WERE TRYING BUT WERE BEING TOLD BY OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE TO SIT DOWN. i GUESS WE ARE USE TO STANDING CHEERING AND GETTING INTO THE EVENT. THE HOLLOYWOOD BOWL WAS A GREAT VENUE, ORCHESTRA HELPED ADD TO THE ATMOSHERE FOR A GREAT CONCERT.

    Faith was outstanding!

by MonteAllan on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The Hollywood Bowl was fabulous. Faith Hill has an excellent voice and is so wonderful to look at. I wish she had sung some more of her old time hits, like Let's Make Love. The combination of some of her band members and backup singers with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert. What a beautiful evening.

    Faith Hill

by marshal on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Faith is an amazing singer however, she just wasn't into this concert. She sang some of her original songs but seemed to gather more enthusiasm when singing another groups songs. One song that was really great was a blues song- fabulous....

Faith Hill slept through her concert

    by kitty123 on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Major disappointment. Thought we were seeing Faith Hill perform with the Philharmonic playing her music, not an hour of the philharmonic playing show tunes and then Hill singing only a few of her songs then who know's what songs. This was not the country concert everyone paid to see. People were leaving from boredom and anger. Parents brought children for a country concert, and that wasn't what we got. We would have left as well if we hadn't taken the bus. Hill performed as though she didn't want to be there and the crowd felt it. Perhaps the concert should have been sold as The Philharmonic and special guest Faith Hill, singing show tunes

    Lacking Faith

    by FridayNight17 on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The 8:30 show had the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for 40 minutes. Okay but on the boring side. Then a 20 minute break. No reason for the main show to start 9:30. Then Hill came on. Not much stage personality. Just sang because it was her job. Never got the audience involved. Finished in 70 minutes. No follow up songs. Just done. Job done.

    Disappointed in the first half

by majssj on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The orchestra came on and after about a half hour, there was a half hour intermission. Then Faith Hill was on for an hour.

Faith Hill - A Special Night for US!

by TomandMic on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

We don’t get out much and this was a very special night for us. My wife’s mother has been in the hospital for several weeks and she has taken a turn for the better. We were able to slip out for a few hours and have some special time together. Faith Hill has always been one of our favorite artists. We spent the night in each others arms listening to her beautiful music. Today we are back at the hospital singing her songs to mom and giving each other those loving looks that we each need so much during times like this. Please thank the Bowl and Faith Hill for giving us such a wonderful night away. It was just the orchestra, Faith and the two of us. A night we will never forget.

Faith Hill Concert at the Bowl was fabulous!!!

    by Cass55 on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

She has a great voice, personality and add the orchestra and her band to that, you have a top notch concert. The music was wonderful and of course, the Hollywood Bowl setting was enjoyable. She commented on the California "laid back" audience so "rock the joint" tonight if you attend. We had a teenager, young adult, middle aged and senior in attendance. We ALL enjoyed it very much. Packed a picnic dinner and ate before the show. Only drawback, the shuttle to the Zoo Parking took over 35 minutes to get there and then they filled the bus on the return trip. Quite uncomfortable and challenging.

Faith Hill at the Hollywood Bowl

by PamiSuu on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I just saw Faith Hill and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra last night Friday 7/17 and they where amazing!!! Faith is so beautiful and sings like an "Angel" You can tell she really enjoys what she does!! She has been doing this for years and she definitely still "Has It". Faith is so down to earth and truly a country girl at heart. She did a lot of her own music and a few songs from other artists which were sweet music to everyone's ears...... The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra opened for Faith and gave a wonderful musical performance! I wish we could see more of Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw out here in Southern California. I would certainly be first in line to get my tickets for all of their shows, I love them both!!! They are an amazing couple and are very blessed to have one another. :)

Hill's singing drowned out by band and orchestra

    by pmc622 on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The warm up show by the Hollywood Bowl orchestra was so so at best, lasting about 35 minutes. After a 20 minute recess, Faith Hill came out to sing for about an hour to end this concert. While I came to hear mainly Faith Hill's singing, there were two problems on this night (not sure if other nights are any better) which resulted in my lower rating: 1. Faith Hill's singing was constantly "drowned out" by the band's and/or the orchestra's sound levels. Someone might be asleep at the sound mixer control. 2. There was an "echo" coming from a speaker at the right side of the bowl (facing the stage). It really is a speaker for a certain section of the orchestra. Not sure if they were trying to present a stereo effect (if so, a real poor job). Since the bowl was not even close to capacity, I tried to move to the center of the bowl, but the echo persisted. I was at the bowl a week earlier for the Ultimate Mancini concert and there was no such echo problem.

    Boring

by loayzita on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

No question Faith Hill is a great singer, but the selection of the songs was not the best...There was no theme to the show...The first half was absolutely boring and in no way related to the type of songs (country music)...I was really disappointed...

    Faith Conquered!

by Elegy on 7/18/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

What a night! She's beautiful, her range is amazing, and she absolutely WOWed the audience! She repeatedly said she was honored to be at the Bowl....well, Faith my dear, you are welcome anytime! She sang her signatures (Breathe, This Kiss, The Secret of Life, The Way You Love Me), threw in some R&B and Gospel, and closed with Take Another Little Piece of My Heart which brought the Bowl audience to its feet.....Faith, you had our hearts in your hand!
