About

Imagine a world consumed by all-powerful bass driven rhythm and colossal seismic frequencies. Sounds of dystopian, futuristic worlds envelop the senses and control the movements of your body as the spectacular audiovisual experience of an Excision show takes hold. The stage shatters worlds with massive stacks of soul-shaking subwoofers, streams of mind-blowing lasers painting entire stadiums, flashes of multicolor lights, immersive visuals transporting you to other dimensions, and as much flame and pyrotechnics as you can fit into a performance.

In 2024, Excision will embark on his biggest, most ambitious tour yet, Nexus, bringing his signature bass music and cutting-edge stage technology all across North America. For the first time, fans in every city will be getting the full Excision concert experience.

DJ, producer and festival creator Excision (Jeff Abel) resides at the epicenter of an ever-expanding realm of the Bass Music genre. Hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, Abel is a pioneer of the North American Dubstep scene with over 17 years of relentless touring, cultivating a huge, passionate community at shows and festivals around the world. His expansive discography traverses a wide range of bass sounds across five full-length studio albums, countless EPs and singles, 17 annual fan-favorite mixes and numerous live recordings, amassing well over 2 billion streams globally.

Under his event production arm Excision Presents, he has created world-renowned music festivals like the prehistoric juggernaut Lost Lands, breathtaking Bass Canyon, beach resort fest Paradise Blue, and major regional concerts like The Thunderdome of Seattle, The Armory in Minneapolis, Mile High in Denver, The Stadium in Los Angeles and more. These branded events combine to bring out hundreds of thousands of headbangers each year. Broader audiences can also catch Excision headlining at legendary festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Ultra, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo and Shambhala.

On the recording side, Excision founded Subsidia Records in 2020 as a followup to his previous imprint Rottun Recordings. Subsidia continues to release groundbreaking tunes from emerging artists with a goal of celebrating and pushing forward the wide breadth of subgenres that culminate in bass music. The label has provided release opportunities for over 100 producers, introducing them to new fans and fostering their continued growth as artists.

Excision's influence can be felt in every facet of the industry. Though he has already established a legendary brand, he is continually striving to help the community grow. Last year, he launched the Bass Music Initiative which sponsored ten up-and-coming bass artists with funds and support to help them advance in their music careers. He says, "Everything I do is focused around the mission of helping Bass Music grow, while still staying true to itself. We have such a caring and loving group of people involved within this scene, and I hope the music will help more people find their home within it."

Everything about this show was awesome! Music was really awesome! Cant complain except the quote bouncer would not let me stand on the steps to take pics or videos of the dj/ party and the light show could of been better but overall was a memorable night!

    Awesome

by dubbb on 2/21/11Masquerade - Atlanta

Normally, this kind of dubstep isn't my favorite but the show was sick. Every DJ killed it so you don't have to sit around an hour waiting to enjoy yourself. If you are on the fence, GO! Never had so much fun for so long. Easily a 5 1/2 hr long concert of sickness. If possible, I'm definitely going again!! Bass in your face

There were tons of people just rocking it to the music. It was incredible! It does get really hot in there though so don't wear warm clothing.

    by scarr800 on 2/21/11Masquerade - Atlanta

If you have any interest at all in Dubstep, hit this up. Absolutely insane, pure energy from the 10pm start to the 3am hour long encore. All 3 killed it and there was never a dull moment

This show was probably the best dubstep show I've been to. The local DJ's killed it as well as Excision, Downlink, and Antiserum. If ANY of these guys are in your area it is a MUST see!!!!!!!!!!!

Epic concert, horrible line to get in.

by BigWilly111241 on 2/15/11Best Buy Theater - New York

The concert was just undescribble. Excision was awesome, the venue was awesome, the sound system was awesome, the people were awesome, the lighting was awesome, and THE MUSIC WAS AWESOME WUBWUBWUBWUBWUB However, we didn't get in until 11:30. We were waiting outside in line around the block for two hours in FREEZING cold New York wind. We weren't informed why we were waiting, or how long it would be. For an hour the line was completely static.

    The grime of all grime

by gregnarkill on 2/15/11Best Buy Theater - New York

ok i dont think words can describe this night, besides waiting like an hour and a half on line in the cold ass wind, best night of my life. I missed antiserum but was able to hear a good amount of downlinks set. within the first 5 minutes of getting inside i was already dancing (i couldnt resist the womps) everyone was raging so hard, i dont think ive ever been to a show where 100% of the people were movin around, usually u get some weird old dudes that float around trying to sell you things, but the crowd was sick, everyone was young and knew how to have a good time. When excision came on, it went insane in that place. The sound was really good, the crowd was fun, the slayer mix was tight and swagger just killed it for me. not to mention excision crowd surfing with an inflatable raft lol. It was my second time going to the nokia theater (yes i still call it by its true name) and i have to say its my favorite venue, good size not too crowded and you get a good view pretty much anywhere. Overall, best show ive ever been to, i still have wobbles stuck in my head

    BASS

by jah13ang on 2/15/11Best Buy Theater - New York

The Best Buy Theater is definitely an excellent venue. For a sold out show, i still had enough room to dance, and if you compare that to a show like the Bloody Beetroots at Webster Hall (another sold out show, incredibly packed where you were forced to move with the crowd) i can say one thing, i will never go to a sold out show at webster again. Best Buy Theater's Sound system was phoenomenal. and so were the DJ's

by ChristinaT123 on 2/14/11Best Buy Theater - New York

I am a huge dubstep fan especially when it comes to Excision. I have been to plenty of festivals and shows and nothing can compare to the madness that went down at the best buy theater when excision fired the bass canon. It was an unforgettable show and completly melted my face off. EXCISION COME BACK TO NYC WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
