Evanescence Concert Schedule and Tour

Rock group Evanescence, initially formed in 1994 by Amy Lee and Ben Moody, released three EPs before the end of the 90s and an album called Origin. By 2002 they were signed to Wind-Up Records and expanded the line-up to include musicians John LeCompt, Will Boyd and Rocky Gray. In 2003 they released their first official album, Fallen, which sold over 15 million copies. Evanescence released a live album, Anywhere But Home, in 2004. This was followed by Open Door in 2006, which sold one million copies in its first week. The band then waited five years to release their third album, the self-titled Evanescence. The band has toured extensively across the world. Their 2012 world tour took in a number of dates in the UK, South America , North America, Australia, China, Japan and Indonesia. The band has received five Grammy nominations and has won two awards for Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance. Other accolades for the band include a Los Premios MTV award, a MTV Australia Video Music Award, a NRJ Music Award, two Teen Choice Awards and a World Music Award. Amy Lee was awarded the National Music Publishers' Association's Songwriter Icon Award in 2008. The bands line-up has varied with a number of members leaving at various stages in their history. One of the founding members, Ben Moody, left in the middle of their European tour in 2003. He was replaced by Terry Balsamo. In 2005, Will Boyd also left, with Tim McCord joining in 2006. During their 2007 tour, John LeCompt was fired and Rocky Gray decided to quit. These two members were replaced by Troy Lawham and Will Hunt. Evanescence's lead singer Amy Lee has worked on a number of other projects. Her version of “Sally's Song" was included on the soundtrack for Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her collaborations with other artists have included “Freak on a Leash" single and Seether's Broken, which was featured on the soundtrack for The Punisher. She has also performed on tracks for David Hodges, Big Dismal and The Damning Well.

    Hit every note!

by Jeanne14 on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

I have seen Evanescence 2 other times and this was by far the best. Her voice was perfect even after running around on stage. The rest of the band was completely in tune with her and put on a great show.. couldn't have been happier and they left me wanting to go to another show tomorrow. Really think they are underappreciated and so much more talented than they get credit for!!

    Evanescence Back With a Vengeance!

by SamRules on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

This was the best Evanescence show I've seen, and I've seen some good ones! Amy's voice was amazing, and she has actually gotten better looking with age too. Well rested and fresh, her voice as strong as ever. The rest of the band did a great job...this show was a primer for a Brazillian show. If you like the music and can ever get to see them, go for it! They Rock! Sammy

First time they seemed like a BAND!

by GreenPaint on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

Evanescence, a band that has been rocking my since since the debut of Fallen and whom I've seen many times, has never sounded so good. The bass was at a perfect balance to the guitars and the drums, and Amy Lee's vocals soared over it all. The band rocked as one, and even though there was obvious mishaps happening during this buffer show, the pay-off delivered in the song was amazing. Of course, the piano made an appearance, really showing off the versatility of this band. Classical training mixed with delicious rock riffs is a recipe for awesome. Evanescence completely delivered during this show, making an unforgettable night. I had almost gotten used to it being an Amy Lee show, but this concert was different. There was a cohesion, an all-out rockability, and just an obvious band existing. Definitely the greatest Evanescence show I've been to, and certainly in my Top 5 all time shows.

by Phoenix315 on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

Last night was the first chance I had to see Evanescence perform and it was well worth the wait. I've been in love with Amy ever since the first time I heard her. Her voice goes through me like blood through veins. I will do everything I can to see every show that she performs in NY.

excellent band, and Amy Lee's voice..... beautiful

by JerseyRockFan on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

Evanescence were in fine form, playing excellent, and Amy Lee's voice was flawless. The venue suited her well, small-to-mid sized ballroom venue, which allowed you to hear every detail in her vocals and the band. I'd previously seen Evanescence at the Izod Center, and the poor speaker set-up washed out her vocals. Not so in this venue at this show. I was very pleased with the sound. Amy Lee looked great, too! It's these smaller, intimate venues that allow you to truly enjoy the artist and their performance. The arena venues tend to be a bit too removed and sterile. It was also kinda neat that this was their only show this year. It made it more special as a fan. I even got a tshirt with the one date listed on it, lol. I was hoping they'd perform at least one or two finished songs from the upcoming new album, but no such luck. I still enjoyed it, but it would have been cool to have been the only people to have heard something of the new stuff. Definitely a night to remember.

    Amy rocks the house!!!

by PHOENIX1RISING on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

Amy Lee was absolutely AMAZING!!! Her voice reached to the rafters and down into your soul!!! She puts so much energy into her performances. Her renditions of Going Under, Bring Me To Life, Imaginary, Weight of the World, Call Me When You're Sober, Lithium and Good Enough just totally ROCKED the place to its core. The audience ranged from teenagers to fifty-somethings showing the wide appeal of their music. If their first two albums and supporting performances are any indication, their third album will go to number 1 in very short order.

Amy Lee has the most amazing voice!

by mzakker on 11/5/09Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom - New York

Concert was very personal. Not a huge amount of people, only hard core fans, and the music was simply superb. She's a phenomenal singer and the music resonates very well in this concert hall.

OMG, they were amazing! Sounded awesome! Amy's voice was unbeleivable! Probably the best Ev show I been too and this is my 4th! Was in second row after waiting about 5 1/2 hours outside! I cannot wait for the new album! The setlist was great! Loved "Missing"! And the cello that accompanied her during "Good Enough" was gorgeous! Had such a great time rocking out! Cant wait to see em again next year!! Took many pics and videos - will upload vids on YouTube later tonight!
