    Victory Theatre First Timer

by L. Ashley- Hughes on 4/7/24Victory Theatre - Evansville

Went to see Etta Mae and her Southern Fried Chicks at the Victory Theatre on April 4, 2024. Was our first time seeing the theatre or the show. Both were GREAT! We had Balcony seating in the very front- left side. Only 2 small rows in front of us. Talk about awesome seats!!! And the theatre itself was Spectacular! We felt like we'd stepped back in time. Unlike the sterile, modern theatres of today, the grandeur of yesteryear shined through. From the golden columns to the tassels on the chandelier lighting. Sure, it had some modern enhancements, like the elevator, bathrooms and lobby bar. But they were tucked just far enough to one side, so as not to detract from the Classic Greatness of The Victory. The staff was amazing as well. From the lady's in the ticket booth to the ushers. We plan on going back in September for the Who's Line Is It Anyway - LIVE show and again in October for the David Bowie Tribute show. With only about 1,100 seats, this venue is big enough, yet still feels intimate and cozy. We made friends with an older couple who had driven all the way from Lafayette. That right there should tell you how great of a place The Victory Theatre is.

Etta May was awesome/super funny and the Southern Fried chicks that were with her were also super funny. Would definitely go back and see the whole group again.

    Cincinnati Weekend Get Away

by Deb on 10/30/23Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

Very joyable evening! Had heard some of her routine from YouTube, but most of it was new material. She is spot on with her story telling routines. Love that she doesn't need to use foul language to be funny. Refreshingly humorous!!!

    Southern Funny!!

The Southern Fried chicks were awesome. Sonya White killed it w/her voices, but Ette May had us in stitches! Loved every minute!

    Etta May

by Thirteenisaluckynumber on 5/5/14CityStage - Springfield

Well...she was funny but the negative is that the show was way too short! One hour and she only kept going another 15 minutes because the audience got a little rowdy when she said she was wrapping up. Found out after the show that she was in a hurry to get on a plane to go to some horse race. She said this herself! Not sure if I'd go to see her again because of that.

We haven't laughed so much in years. Each lady was completely unique and completely 'Southern.' What a grand time we had. Would definitely go see them again. When will these funny ladies be back?

    More than I expected.

by 10thAnniv on 7/10/11Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

I had read the reviews after I bought the tickets and I was a little skeptical. My husband and I both liked the show very much. It was not vulgar and was very tasteful. I would go see them again and I do recommend the show.

    Dr Etta

by kadida on 11/8/10Empire Arts Center - Grand Forks

I think this show would have been better if the crowd was larger. Not many attended. The closing was corny. There were a few entertaining moments but overall not enough of a show for the money.
