About

Ethan Bortnick is a classically trained pianist and songwriter who first discovered his phenomenal musical talent at age three--replicating Mozart on his keyboard due to his perfect pitch and composing two years later. The Florida-based musician appeared on multiple national and international television shows including Oprah and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which led to claiming a Guinness World Record aged nine as the youngest-ever person to headline a solo concert tour and raising over $50 million for charities across almost 1000 headlined shows.

The pandemic eventually became necessary to distinguish his future from his past and to define the artist he wanted to become, as he soon found his way to the sound he'd long been reaching for: a boldly original and piano-driven take on alternative, pop, and indie music, exquisitely composed but rich in raw emotion. TikTok was an invaluable sounding board for Bortnick, manufacturing the communal feel he fell in love with on tour. The reaction to "cut my fingers off" was overwhelming, and the reception of August's thumping, explosive single "engravings" proved it wasn't a fluke, garnering Ethan 4.5 million new followers on TikTok. Both songs accumulated more than 58 million US streams, and both landed on multiple viral Spotify charts. In 2023, Ethan is set to release even more music and looks towards finally returning to the stage for a spring/summer headlined tour and festival appearances.

Ethan is amazeing, so young will go far!!

by southernbel on 7/1/14City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I waited several months for the show to get here. The wait was rewarding!! So much fire in the performances, he is such an awesome young man, and ONLY 13!! I enjoyed his performance with Damian and Chloe. I love both of them very much. I have followed Damian since he was 14 starting out with Celtic Thunder. Ethan's family can be very proud of him. I bought the DVD so I can enjoy the show many times.

    Amazing young man

by KathyFoley on 6/4/14The Santander Performing Arts Center (Formerly Sovereign P.A.C) - Reading

Ethan is obviously a child prodigy. His personality and ease of self on stage was the surprise. But, he is still 13 and not yet pretentious. That made for a good show. Damien has come a long way from Celtic Thunder. He has a very good Irish voice and way about him. Would have liked to see him do more. We will definitely go to see either of them again.

The show was outstanding. Ethan Bortnick was dynamite and at his age truly unbelievable. The music, singing and all was great. Damien McGinty was excellent as well along with the Salem and Brandon School Choirs at the end. I saw Ethan on a PBS special and could not wait to see him in person. A must to go see!!

Went to support the Youth Symphony -- they played a wonderful, "mix-it-up" play-list -- loved all of it. I was surprised, and very pleasantly, with Ethan Bortnick. Despite his youth he is a seasoned showman.

Ethan Bortnick was a lil genius

by BearChic on 2/28/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

Ethan's show was wonderful! My eight year old son just loved every minute of the show. Ethan engaged the audience after every song he played, that was not an easy thing to do for a 10 year old. He kept everyone's attention and did so just perfect. We really enjoyed his Q&A that he offered to the audience in order to ask him questions such as: how he got to where he is at such a young age. My son hasn't stopped talking about Ethan's show. He tells me "Mom I am so glad you took me to see Ethan, he is so talented". Ethan's show is a must see for all ages!

    Ethan is a true showman!!

by MomtocatsBunkyandMissy on 2/28/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I knew this was going to be good and I was NOT disappointed. Ethan Bortnick is truely amazing. He even had a Q & A session with people in the audience.....this would be daunting for an adult, but he breezed thru it with no problem at all with his quick wit. He is a true showman. His talent is unbelievable....He plays piano, he sings, he writes songs. And to think he is only 10!

See it - but avoid Gwinnett Performing Arts Center

by saz10 on 2/27/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

Ethan Bortnick was fantastic. For a 10 year old to literally "run the show" for 2 hours is something that truly has to be seen. The kid is clearly a prodigy. His performance runs the gamut from Mozart to Dean Martin to Billy Joel (and everything in between). Truly he is a pleasure! Gwinnett Performing Arts Center however was a major disappointment. You would think that a "performing arts center" could manage a proper sound check - but for the first 15 mins or so, there was terrible feedback (an audible hiss that could be heard OUTSIDE the auditorium) AND the bass was over-miked, so it blurred the sound. Also the sound was not balanced so whenever the backup musicians played, it drowned out both Ethan and the choir that came up to join him for a couple of songs. Again - Ethan was fantastic, but I would score the venue as poor

    AMAZING, UPLIFTING PERFORMANCE

by ethanfan on 2/24/11Best Buy Theater - New York

This sweet little boy has amazing talent and stage presence for a 10 year old. He plays everything from classical to pop tunes to jazz. Even some of his own compositions. He also improvised two pieces from random audience phone ringtones, in two different genres of music, no less! He handled audience Q&A like an adult - was interesting and polite, with such poise. He is truly remarkable. Should not be missed!! BRAVO! ETHAN!!

    Ethan Bortnick was fantastic!

by delrcher on 2/23/11Keswick Theatre - Glenside

Very talented & very witty (an adults humor in a nine year olds body) Our group of 7 people (ranging from 7 years old to 59) all loved the show and we were astounded by this young mans' talent, wit & caring for others -- we would recommend his show to anyone who enjoys music & cares for children! An A+++
