First of all I paid for music, sports, and parking pass in the form of a "3 day pass." What I received in the mail for my friends and I was 18 TICKETS and three parking passes (each day). I was disappointed I didn't get a wristband, but I got over it. Then upon arrival I had to hand over my music tickets to be redeemed into a wristband for the concerts... Btw if I didn't redeem my wristband I would not be allowed entry into the concert venue. This year they made everything a lot closer together, so I was able to see all of the sports events I wanted to see, and actually very close too (I didn't buy VIP). About 30%-40% of the events got cancelled due to "lightning 8 miles away" , "severe winds" and "intense rain." I was pumped to see g-eazy and Logic on Friday, but unfortunately they evacuated everyone out and cancelled the shows. They said I would get an immediate refund for Friday concert, but I have not received one yet. I waited outside under a tent thinking they would let everyone back in for the concert. After 1.5 hours of waiting it was cancelled. As far as COTA goes, the venue sucks. There is no shade anywhere to be found. On Saturday we got hammered with heavy rain, basically cancelling most of the sporting events. They evacuated everyone into the grandstand buildings and to their cars. Once the rain stopped we were let out and then further evacuated outside of COTA and put back in line. After about 25 minutes of waiting in line we were let back in. At that point I just waited in line to see blink-182. All Time low opened for Blink-182, I am not a fan so I just sat down during the opening. But when Blink-182 came on it made up (mostly) for all of the nonsense that happened on Friday and Saturday. Food was ok, the only good restaurants were Torchy's Tacos and Mighty Cone, but I already eat there often on my own time. On Sunday, they moved all of Saturday's events to Sunday and let everyone with a Saturday ticket in on Sunday for free. So my three day pass should have been a two day pass with a 1/3 refund. But it wasn't, I received no refund. Sunday ended quickly with yet more event cancellations due to "wind", which I understand. But what pisses me off the most is that they gave a sub par last year to Austin. We basically deserve a FULL refund for putting up with all of the cancellations and evacuations. Blink-182 saved the weekend. I feel like Xgames is more of a corporate event than anything. It doesn't feel like action sport people run the Xgames. The sponsors were Harley Davidson, Fruit of the loom (wtf, right?), Intel, the Navy, and a few others. Basically none of those brands are action sport brands. They only held three sports this year, (Moto, BMX, and Skate.) So hopefully you understand why I rated this weekend two. The ONLY reason I had fun was because I was with my friends and we saw Blink-182. If those things weren't there I wouldn't even give a single star. I'm glad they are leaving Austin.
