About

Erth’s DINOSAUR ZOO Live takes you on a tour through pre-historic Australia, bringing an eye-popping array of ancient creatures to life on stage.  You will observe and interact with extraordinarily life-like creatures, just like those that inhabited the Southern Hemisphere millions of years ago.   Meet a menagerie of insects, mammals and dinosaurs in their ancient environment, in this highly imaginative, entertaining and educational live show.   From the sweetly curious baby Dryosaur, to the peaceful hulk Titanosaur, and even the teeth-gnashing T-rex -- Erth’s DINOSAUR ZOO Live is a unique interactive theater performance that stimulates the imagination in a way that connects children to their world.  Erth’s large-scale puppets were developed in consultation with paleontologists, based on current science and interpretations of fossil evidence.   Employing sophisticated design and electronics, these giants are brought to life by skilled performers and puppeteers, made all the more real through the magic of theatre.

    awesome puppets...but wanted more

by tracetj on 3/20/18Shubert Theatre - New Haven

We paid for the "inner circle" meet and greet before the show. The Shubert staff opened a few minutes early (it was cold out) and couldn't have been nicer. Kids got to talk to the puppeteers, go on stage, touch the triceratops - put their head in its mouth. And then they got to sit next to a baby dinosaur w/ puppeteer and talk more about dinosaurs. This was all done in a neat and orderly fashion and not at all rushed. The kids were given a dinosaur plush...funny I paid for 4 tickets at the same price, but the adults weren't given a plush! I joke, but. Anyway. The Shubert brought in the Yale Peabody museum, which was a great idea and the kids liked it even though we've been there several times. The show itself is very much a "zoo" type presentation like you'd see at a zoo with a live animal. The puppets were magnificent! We would have liked to see more (my son claims one from an on-line ad was not in the show?) - or at least see more of the ones they used spending more time on the stage during all the talking. The talking was good, especially given a large theater and lots of little kids ;) .But again - more dino action would have been better. They called kids up on stage one at a time to participate - so maybe a total of 4 kids - and also one adult...so get aisle seats if you want a chance! :)

Good show but so short for the price of the ticket!! Only 50 minutes long!!

This event was overly hyped with excellent marketing, but it did not deliver. The puppets were amateurish; at one point, human legs were clearly visible in the T Rex. The premise of sharing facts was a good one, but so much more should have been done. The entire show depended on the voice of one woman speaking in a strong Australian accent often hard to understand. The show relied on the potential for fear promulgated by the MC. Children were talked to and talked down. Jokes wereoffensive given the presence is so many little children.

    Erth's Dinosaur Zoo was fun!!

by BlueEyes70 on 3/2/18St. George Theatre - Staten Island

My only complaint is the price of the ticket was way too expensive for barely an hour show. Dinosaurs were impressive.. my favorite was the triceratops.

    Not worth the money

by DPVP on 2/28/18St. George Theatre - Staten Island

I am sorry that I have to give this show a poor review, mostly because of the cost. The show was approximately 50 minutes long, and consisted of a variety of dinosaur puppets coming out on stage while the show's commentator related facts about their existence, also choosing some children from the audience for participation. While the puppets were phenomenal and the information interesting, and as much as the commentator tried to make things amusing, I think this is a show that belongs in an amusement park or children's museum and should be offered for free, or if it is a traveling show, at least offered for half the price from what I paid. The loud noises scared the younger children, which is not the fault of the show but just worth a mention for anyone considering attending. All in all the show was entertaining, but definitely overpriced.

    Very entertaining

by Reg722 on 2/28/18St. George Theatre - Staten Island

I loved how they introduced the dinosaurs to the children . They eased in from the smallest to the biggest so that the children would not be afraid . They brought some children onstage to help the younger children understand that the puppets would not hurt them . There was humor for kids and adults . Highly recommend . The smile on my nephews face after was pricelsss. He was scared at first and by the end of the show he was dancing in the aisles.

This was a Christmas present for my daughter and grandson and when we walked out I was kissed by my grandson and he said it was his best Christmas present! Loved it and he’s still talking about the Tyrannosaurus rex!

    Too much talking,less action

by LenkaS on 10/22/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

My son is only two and half so if there would be more action and less talking and less time with kids on the podium it would be better. My son loves dinosaurs! It just took way too long before new dinosaurs showed up. nothing interesting was happening between. The only good thing was that the dinosaurs looked good and were not scary (except of a dragon fly that scarred him at the beginning and he wanted to go home - In other hand that was the only thing I liked :)) I think it is good they do it for kids. I would pay more and go again if they talk less :)

Amazing puppets, but not a great show

by AJAja on 10/22/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

The puppets were amazing and inspired creativity in my kids. The show itself was too slow. Some kids got to interact with the Dino’s, but for those who didn’t it wasn’t much better than seeing the puppets in a museum. There was way too much time spent on the baby Dino puppets and not enough interaction with the big, amazing ones.

    Dinasour

by Flowering on 10/22/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

There was too much vocal and not enough action time. Children became restless. Also had trouble hearing some of the vocal portion.

by Kelly2Amelia on 10/22/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

My four year old loves dinosaurs, so we got tickets to this show. She loved it!! She talked about it all the way home and told her preschool class all about it the next morning.

Geared to kids 6 years +

by twinmama123 on 10/22/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Thought this would be fun for my dinosaur enthusiast 3yr olds. There was a lot of talking which was great for the older kids, the audience was full of little kids getting restless. It was an hour & 10 minute show thankfully. They brought out 4 & 1/2 Dinos. The last one was just a head & neck & a large dragon fly. They enjoyed it but, I believe it is better for 6yrs plus! Overall it was a good value for the show.
