About

Argentinian rock trio Enanitos Verdes (translation: "Little Green Dwarves") have been through a great deal in the 40-plus years they've been active, releasing 15 studio albums and steadily making a major impact across the globe, not to mention among Latin audiences.

Originally formed in the late '70s, Enanitos Verdes first consisted of three members: singer/bassist Marciano Cantero, guitarist Felipe Staiti and drummer Daniel Piccolo. Together, the trio relocated from Mendoza to Buenos Aires and began performing live at local clubs. In 1984, the band welcomed two new members: guitarist/vocalist Sergio Embrioni and keyboardist Tito Dávila. Together, the newly assembled quintet recorded their 1984 self-titled debut album. Ultimately, in 1985, Embrioni left the band.

The following year, Enanitos Verdes released their sophomore album, Contrarreloj (Counterclockwise), which featured production by Latin Grammy winner Andrés Calamaro and singles "Tus Viejas Cartas" ("Your Old Letters"), "Cada Vez Que Digo Adiós" ("Every Time I Say Goodbye") and "La Muralla Verde" ("The Green Wall").

In 1987, the group released their third album, Habitaciones Extrañas (Strange Rooms), which was also produced by Calamaro and featured singles "Te Vi en un Tren" ("I Saw You In A Train"), "Por el Resto" ("For The Rest") and "El Extraño de Pelo Largo" ("The Stranger With The Long Hair"). In 1988, the band embarked on a major tour, which drew enormous crowds across Chile and their native Argentina.

In 1988, Enanitos Verdes released their fourth album, Carrousel, which featured the hit "Guitarras Blancas" (White Guitars), followed by 1989's Había Una Vez (Once Upon A Time). Soon after, however, the band broke up, and Marciano Cantero embarked on a solo career.

In 1992, Enanitos Verdes got back together and recorded the aptly titled reunion album Igual Que Ayer (Same As Yesterday). Throughout the '90s, the band released four more albums: 1994's Big Bang, 1996's Guerra Gaucha (Gaucho War), 1997's Planetario (Planetarium), and 1999's Néctar. The band's 1998 live album, Tracción Acústica, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Performance.

Moving into the 2000s, Enanitos Verdes kept releasing albums, including 2001's Solo para Fanáticos (Only For Fanatics), 2002's Amores Lejanos (Distant Loves), 2006's Pescado Original (Original Fish), and 2009's Inéditos. In 2009, drummer Daniel Piccolo left the band and was replaced by Jota Morelli. In 2011, guitarist Sergio Embrioni tragically passed away.

Enanitos Verdes kept going, though, releasing the studio album Tic Tac in 2013 and touring across the United States with Spanish pop/rock group Hombres G. In 2018, they released a live album from that tour titled Huevos Revueltos (En Vivo).

    Great Band - Poor audio

    by P. C. on 8/16/22James L Knight Center - Miami

I've seen them multiple times, always great performers with great repertoire. But the sound was out of balance, muffled bass, high mids, excessive snare cut through and couldn't hear the voices clear, not even close, making this a bad experiencie.

    Iconic Concert

by Ana G on 8/16/22House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

This was by far one of the most amazing concerts I have attended. It was very crowded but the energy was great and the music was superior. House of Blue is always a great venue for this type of bands.

    WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

by SONIA on 8/16/22House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

THE PLACE WAS OVER CROWED, COULDN'T SEE STAGED NOR REACHED CLOSED DUE SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE VENUE, THE ONLY SPOT AVAILABLE WAS IN THE ENTRANCE OF THE VENUE, IF I JUST WANT TO HEAR THE SONGS I LISTEN THEM AT HOME FOR FREE, WHATS THE POINT OF PAYING OVER $200 AND NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE BAND LIVE. WE HAVE TO LEAVE WITHOUT BEEN ABLE TO SEE THE BAND, IT'S NOT MY FIRST TIME IN THIS VENUE, AND NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE

Enanitos were great! HOB not that much!

by CynthiaM on 8/16/22House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

This is my 5th time attending a concert at HOB Orlando, and it was packed. The problem is that yes, you can fit more people by packing all of the areas, but then the people in the back/entrance/bar areas can't see the stage and the sound quality is terrible, as they leave the doors open. Normally, the sound quality inside the venue is amazing, but outside of the main area you can just hear people talking and not the music. Another issue was that in the tickets it said the concert would start at 7pm, but no, that was the time they opened the doors. The line was so long it ended up near the food trucks area. So, between security check, ID check and finally ticket check, the last ones in the line missed about 15 minutes of the concert.

Really good show. They rocked! The venue was great

by Mostiky on 8/15/22James L Knight Center - Miami

We had seats in near the top but we still were able to see and hear very well. The Enanitos rocked the show. Loved the guitar solos and obviously they played a lot of their hits. Lamentos Bolivianos! Yes. Spanish is not my first language but the music is great so you don't need to be fluent to enjoy it.

    Best concert yet

by Paula on 8/15/22James L Knight Center - Miami

I have seen los Enanitos Verdes in concert 5x: each time it has been an amazing experience and each concert better than the last … this was no exception … full house and they kept us dancing and singing and having a blast… when Lamento Boliviano came on, the crowd went into a frenzy and that includes my American husband who does not speak Spanish :) … such a wonderful contagious positive energy…such a perfect night … I hope they comeback next year. I will be there … front and center

    Awesome event!

by Gabriella on 8/15/22James L Knight Center - Miami

The band is awesome as always!! They sang all the favorites and had us all singing along. I don’t give them 4 stars because I believe they had sound issues on one of the mics where one side of the lyrics were so soft, drowned by the bass and the drums and when the other singer sang we could hear the vocals clearly! At one point a sound person tried something but it didn’t work. Still the carried on and even played a very awesome encore of 3 favorite songs!! So people of all future destinations: don’t stop clapping!! The encore is on its way!! Enjoy!

Location was horrible band was great

by Jan on 8/15/22James L Knight Center - Miami

They changed the location last minute, within weeks. The new venue was horrible, rundown, left in the 80’s. They were so unorganized and ill prepared to facilitate everyone. The lines were long to enter and then if you wanted to purchase anything the lines were even longer because not enough people were on hand/hired as vendors or to sell concessions/etc. people were still in line when the concert started because there was no indication of when they would start bc it wasn’t punctual. I’ll never watch another show at this venue, if I can avoid it from being a rescheduled location that is.
