About
Emei is an alternative pop singer from Los Angeles, California. Born in New Jersey to first-generation Chinese immigrants, the musician (born Emily Li) made a name for herself by competing as a teenager on Season 2 of Chinese Idol, where she came in third, and the Chinese version of Dancing with the Stars. Now a Yale graduate with a degree in cognitive neuroscience, Emei went viral on TikTok in 2022 with her single “Late to the Party.” Since then, she’s released her debut EP End of an Era and its 2023 follow-up Scatterbrain, which includes singles “Irresponsible,” “Cynical” and “Don’t Know About The World.” In 2024, Emei will kick off The Cynical Tour.

by Huge Fan on 11/8/23Mercury Lounge - New YorkIt was amazing! Emei was so good and she was so personal and she remembered some fans who went to the other shows. When she came down to sing to the crowd it was such a magical experience. She was an angel for being so close to her fans. Venue was great, the only issue is that the merch was so close to the door that it was chaotic getting out. Lilyisthatyou is an amazing performer and I went crazy for her. I did miss most of the first opener but her voice was really good. Amazing show 100/100.
