The Eli Young Band may have felt like an overnight success when they stormed the country charts with their No. 1 hits "Crazy Girl" and "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" in 2011, but in reality the success was over a decade in the making. The two tracks appear on the band's fourth album, "Life at Best," which climbed to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and marked a career-high for a band that had never charted above No. 30 on the chart before. In 2013, the group teased their in-the-works fifth album with the new single "Drunk Last Night," and launched a headlining US club tour of the same name. The band got its start when founders Mike Eli and James Young shared a dorm room as freshmen at the University of North Texas. By 2003, they'd added bassist Jon Jones and drummer Chris Thompson to their group and, on the strength of their energetic concerts and countrified melodic rock, began to develop a deep fan base in Texas and the Southwest, sometimes selling a couple of thousand tickets to shows in the region.
Eli young band always puts on a great show!!! Loved it!!!
Loved watching the group live, music and harmony were grear along with the lighting effects. Can't wait to see them again
Billy Bobs in Ft.Worth was the best venue for the life at best CD release party. It was sold out and packed but that made it better, sharing the music with so many EYB fans. Unforgettable night.
Eli Young put on a heck of a show. Great set list, great crowd interaction. An added surprise was being part of a live version music video for "Crazy Girl." Billy Bob's was by far the type of venue you want to keep going to over again.
It was a great show. They were amazing! I can not wait for them to come back.
Billy Bobs is a TERRIBLE place to see concerts..if you actually shell out more money for the reserved seating, you are forced to stay seating so the people you only paid GA and are super far away from the stage can "see". who sits down during a concert? very disappointing.
This was an awesome show. Not a big surprise from these guys.
I drove five hours to get there and was not disappointed, the concert was well worth the drive! The band was full of energy and they played a solid two hours without one break! I plan to see them again!
eli young band was awsome and they sure know how to put on a show. of cource they played some oldies but goodies and some of there new songs off there new cd that just came out. awsome show i would definatly do it again!
I love the Eli Young Band. They have some really great songs! However, when I bought these tickets, it said that the show was supposed to start at 7pm. A few days before the show, we found out that the doors opened at 7pm, so we figured the band would probably start around 9pm. We got there at 7pm and found our seats (which were up on the balcony... Awesome Seats!!) and asked what time the show was going to start and found out that the Eli Young Band didn't come on until 11:15pm!! That is outrageous! I work a full time job where I have to be up early in the morning! They put on a good show, but if I would have known they were starting that late, I would have not gotten the tickets! Overall- the seats were amazing, the house band that played was awesome, the Eli Young Band was great- but 11:15pm to start a concert on a Thursday night does not work for me!
They kicked me out because I didn't have my wrist band and my "M" for minor. I took it off cause the ink was giving me a rash. I love Eli young band and I was there just for them not beer!! Eww! I didn't even get to dance to my favorite song crazy girl which will be my boyfriend and I wedding song. Eli young band is amazing band!
So great! Awesome show. So inperational, so nice to see a band that inspires young texas country bands.
I have seen them mulitple times and every time, the amaze me. I met them at the Austin Rodeo earlier this year and that experience made me love them that much more - they are such nice guys and so humble. They really do love their fans and what they do.
The concert was really good! Two downsides were how stinkin' long it took them to get on stage (11:30) and that the dance floor was unavailable due to packed fans. Definitely would have enjoyed it more had those two things been better! :)
The venue and the band couldn't have been better. I'd definitely go to cowboys to see another band. Especially if its Eli Young Band!!!
I enjoyed everything about the event....except that Eli Young Band did not come out until 1130pm, which I thought was a late start, considering I had driven from Austin. Not getting home until 230am was a bit rough. Next time, perhaps post the concert start time on the tickets? The only time that was mentioned was that doors were open at 7pm, which was misleading.
We arrived to Cowboys in San Antonio, from Austin,TX around 7:30pm. To our dismay Eli Yound Band was not set to go on stage until 11:15 pm, we were very disappointed because the tickets said 7pm. We would have either left Austin, which is an hour and a half way, later ornever have bought the tickets. We were not allowed to leave and come back later to see the band. For future notice, the time that the band ACTUALLY goes on should be the time on the ticket.
Fantastic!!! The girls and I had an absolute blast! If you ever get the chance, take it! These guys are all worth it!!!! Thanks to the "Boss" & his security guys at the club too!!!
Anytime I get to see the Eli Young Band it is great. And I had not ever listened to the Locash Cowboys so they were a pleasant surprise. The opening act, whose name I can't remember were way too inappropriate for an all ages show. Language and obscene jestures. Jaron and the long road to love just seemed out of his elelment.
Jaron rocked the house. LOCASH COWBOYS are awesome in person.
