I've been a fan of this band for a few years but never seen them live. Finally a chance arose, at a venue I'd never been to before, and the show was absolutely unreal. I couldn't believe two guys could do something like this in a live setting, and was blown away at the mixes of their own songs they put together. Hands down would go to their show every time they come to Boston from here on out.
Perfection. They sound even better live which is surprising. Sound was awesome, lights were even better. I hope they come back to the NYC area! So good. Don't even think twice if you're on the fence. Just go! You won't regret it.
If bacon had a sound it would be that of El Ten Eleven and for those vegans out there it would sound like avocados.
I had no idea how awesome El Ten Eleven was before seeing this 2 peice perform live. On their albums, you could easily mistake them for a band who produces a lot of their sound digitally. Seeing them live put it all into perspective. It was amazing to watch the Kristian rock his double neck guitar/bass while playing one "layer" of music at a time and looping the layers together organically. As the songs progress, you can watch him add and subtract layers methodically while the drummer holds everything together. The Sinclair is a great venue to boot.
Bowery Ballroom is the perfect venue to see a show. Bars on every level, places to sit up in the balcony or stand at the railing and watch t the show without obstruction. Much better than larger venues. Two opening bands were great. El ten eleven was amazing. Sound quality was perfect. Lights were on point and fun projections added to take it to next level. I love going to see great bands at smaller venues like this because it adds the level of intimacy with the artists that you can't get at larger venues. They only thing that would have made our even better would be access to the reserved area on the balcony which I wouldn't mind patting a little extra for. Great show. Fantastic night!
