EL Gran Combo with Andy Montanez, were GREAT
by Anonymous on 9/17/10Paradise Theater - BronxRating: 4 out of 5The Gran Combo and Andy Montanez were not billed to play together. Andy came on first and thrilled the packed house with his sons singing back-up. Then two other acts followed. By the time the Gran Combo took the stage it was about one hour later. I figured Andy would be half way back to P.R. by that time. But he did stick around and joined the Grand Combo and sang a few songs they made popular back in the day, and they did not disappoint. They opened with one of my favorites, GUAGUANCO DEL GRAN COMBO. The audiance came alive with excitement, as if to say, THANK-YOU FOR ALL THE GREAT YEARS OF SALSA MUSIC. The other acts were just O.K., which was fine by me, because I paid to see the greatest salsa band of our age. I wish then continued success so that I can continue to paid to see them.
I do have one complaint, The sonud system in the theater was a little to loud, that's why I rated the show only 4 STARS.
