This was my first time seeing most of the bands that played, besides Seether. Also, my first time at edgefest. Lucky for me and my friend the weather held out and there was and amazing card, it was a kick ass show.

    EdgeFest VII

by SoraSkellington on 4/25/11Arkansas State Fairgrounds - Little Rock

So overall, I loved Edgefest VII. All the bands were great, the music was great, and everything looked and sounded awesome. The only time i didn't have fun was when i was trying to work my way up to the front row. My first attempt took four hours of shuffling through thousands of sweaty, high, drunk, and stinky people, By the time i actually got to the front, i was sun burnt, tired, thirsty, hungry, sweaty, and i had to go pee like crazy. So i wasn't able to stay up front for very long at all. So i headed back, went to the bathroom, ate some nachos and started working my way back to the front, dreading whether it would be worth it or not. I spent 7 hours this time working my way up to the front. Avenged Sevenfold is my favorite band, so i just HAD to see them up close. 7 hours had past and I've had nothing to drink, nothing to eat, and no chance of using the restroom, and all of my ribs were sore from the entire crowd jamming everyone in the front up against the two barriers we were all shoved between. At this point i was doubting it would be worth it being stuck to the side of all these sweaty people, deprived of all my necessities for the longest time. Then Three Days Grace played and they were awesome! They boosted my hope quite a bit. But after they were done, Stonesour started playing on the second stage. All of us at the main stage were there for one reason, and that was Avenged Sevenfold. We stood there for over 45 minutes jam packed together like a bunch of sardines, waiting for Avenged Sevenfold to get on. Almost all of us were yelling and cussing toward Stonesour to get off the stage. As soon as Stonesour finished playing, we all cheered. Not because we liked their performance (we couldn't see it anyways) but because we wanted them off the stage so we could see the band we've been waiting for. Some transition songs were played, and at this point, i was thinking,"This had better be worth it.", Then the lights went out and i heard the intro to Nightmare. I instantly forgot about hunger, pain from being squished, soreness, tiredness, thirst, the stinky high, sweaty people, and i ended up witnesses the best performance i have ever seen in my entire life. So now i ask my self, "Was the pain and waiting and suffering worth it?" I can very easily say, "Hell YES!"

up the ticket price & weed out the bad crowd

by hardrockchick on 4/25/11Arkansas State Fairgrounds - Little Rock

Great line up, but facilities were insufficient for event. Camp chairs were needed for a 10 1/2 hour event. A blanket on concreete doesn't cut it, and if people are sitting on the ground behind the huge crowd, they can't see the show anyway. The sound booth was set up too close to the stages so a lot of people were all scrunched in one spot in front of the stages and rude people try to push their way in front of you when things are set up this way. Can't really say that I blame them though because no one could see behind the sound tent anyway. There was trash everywhere, I never came across a trash can come to think of it. There were more portable toilets than there have been in previous years, but still there was no toilet paper left in them by a few hours into the event. Sanitation was a joke! There needed to be more maintenence people hired to work the event to keep everything running smoothly. There were messed up people everywhere and security was a joke! People walking around half naked and smoking pot everywhere. Food and beer was $5 each which I think is pretty steep. I wish Sevendust would have had a longer set. Seemed like they didn't get to play very long. Other than all of that, the music was great.

    Avenged Sevenfold was sick

by bortzi44 on 4/25/11Arkansas State Fairgrounds - Little Rock

Overall concert was smaller than I thought it would be. All the bands played very well, except 3DG (which was surprising), and Stone Sour went a little longer than desired. Liked the setup of the stages and the lineup was pretty awesome. A7X kicked it like I knew they could

    edgefest rocked!

by shishkabobbett on 4/25/11Arkansas State Fairgrounds - Little Rock

My favorite bands were skillet and three days grace. My husband loves a7x. We enjoyed our overall concert experience. The only complaint i have is how many people there were smoking marijuana. I'm in the marines and I regularly get random drug tests so I don't smoke it and the smell was very overpowering. Also A7X made a comment about girls showing their titties and girls making out with each other that was slightly offensive to me. The only reasons I didn't give this concert 5 stars.

Many great bands brought 'A' game, a few didnt...

by shabalicious on 4/25/11Arkansas State Fairgrounds - Little Rock

Got there practically at the start, the first line I saw was really long, but then I realized I already had a ticket so I didnt need to be in that line and was momentarily relieved. It didnt last long. Then I saw the line to get in WITH tickets... holy cow. None of the security were there for the majority of the line, which was backed out and down the street. Dozens of people just walked up and merged in with the crowd, making the people who'd legitimately gotten in line to stay in one place even longer and wait longer to get in. People were just flooding. I get that it was a big event, huge draw. There just didnt seem to be enough organization in the herding. Dark From Day One seemed ok, I was getting in and getting a beer tag when they were getting into their set, and it wasnt terrible. Art of Dying was really impressive in their delivery and crispness of their sound. They really seemed to be enthusiastic about performing their solid set of rock. Halestorm, Skillet, 3DG, & Stone Sour rocked the effing house. Seether & Theory may need to check their amps. And I was just too exhausted to stay for A7X. Sorry, dudes. Maybe next time.

A7X was the reason I went

by Wyer on 4/25/11Arkansas State Fairgrounds - Little Rock

And they didn't let me down. AMAZING show!! Stone sour was boring but I blame it on no interaction from the fans. Three days grace, Seether, Sevendust, Halestorm all done really well too.
