Eddie Griffin on Tour
A popular comedian turned actor who started his career on-stage as a dare, funnyman Eddie Griffin has built an ever-growing fan base since jumping onto the comedy scene in 1990.
His Stand-Up Comedy Specials have received rave reviews including Def Comedy Jam (1992), the Cable Ace Award-nominated HBO special One Night stand (1992), the HBO special Voodoo Child (1997), Dysfunktional Family (2003), Comedy Central's You Can Tell 'Em I Said It (2011), and the Showtime Special Undeniable (2018).
Comedy Central has honored Eddie as one of the Top 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of all time.
As an actor, Eddie Griffin has appeared in over 50 films such films as The Last Boy Scout (1991), Coneheads (1993), Armageddon (1998), Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999), Norbit (2007), American Hero (2015) Mucho Dinero (2016), and A Star is Born (2018).
His most notable film role was Anton Jackson in Undercover Brother (2002). Eddie was nominated (1996) and won (2000) the NAACP Image Award for Best Actor in his own hit comedy series Malcolm and Eddie (1996-2000).
In 2019 Eddie began shooting the feature film The Comeback Trail alongside actors Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones.
Eddie's third SHOWTIME comedy special, Eddie Griffin: E-NIGGMA, premiered on December 6, 2019. Griffin's unapologetic storytelling canvasses his 30-plus year comedy career and offers an intimate glimpse into the 10th year of his nightly Las Vegas residency, The Eddie Griffin Experience at the Sahara Hotel and Casino.
My husband and I had a fabulous time and enjoying the raw comedy of Eddie Griffith. Had not seen him in decades. It was especially great to have Rialto bring something entertaining for the black folks. Meaning.. well seasoned black folks. Can't hardly wait to see who the next R&B singer and or Black comedian comes next.
Hilarious, as always. His opening act was funny too.
Had a wonderful time. My husband and I laughed the whole time, except when Eddie was giving his on point knowledge about Current Affairs. And Awesome Performance overall.
I checked out Eddie Griffin with my Wife for our 10th year wedding anniversary. It was my 1st time at the Rialto Square Theater. Purchasing the tickets through the app was an easy process. Parking was difficult until we found a parking garage right across the street from the theater. The garage parking was free!! Eddie was hilarious! He did some old material but mostly new comedy. He vibed with the crowd well & gave us more than our money's worth. I'm glad that he spoke from the heart & gave his take on a lot of things. It was great to see a legend live & he did not disappoint!
Everything was great but there is room for improvement. You guys should pipe in some music for Suite Life area.
I absolutely loved his show! His content was great. Laughed with tears in my eyes the whole time.

The whole event was great from the beautiful Realto to the beautiful ppl who came out for a great show.
Eddie was shockingly funny. I didn’t know what to expect from him. I thought it was definitely reverse prejudice which was shocking within itself. Loved his imitations at the end and that he wasn’t afraid to say what he felt!

The Eddie Griffin comedy show was phenomenal. I had never seen him live on stage so it was an extra treat for me. I loved the opening act Hulk the Comedian was super hilarious and very nice when I met him in the lobby. I wished there would have been a short meet and greet with Eddie Griffin particularly for those who purchased the orchestra pit seats (something to consider for next time) I’m looking forward to the next time Eddie Griffin comes to my town. I’m so there everytime!!
I have seen Eddie's standup on tv, some of his movies, but in person he is HILARIOUS.
The show was great I enjoyed every moment. Eddie did his thang as usual and the opening comedian was funny also
I appreciate the fact that he came to Joliet near my home instead of going to Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, or Tinley Park, IL.

Me and my hubby really enjoyed the show. We was laughing the whole show. Really cool guy,we met him at the airport in Las Vegas a few years ago. Down to earth person, love it.
Eddie Murphy was great. However the sound acoustics at the Rialto were marginal - at least in the upper deck. I’ve seen many concerts their an it is fine. But non-musical shows are a problem
Eddie Griffin was Eddie Griffin as only he could be. He was 100% real with his show, all new material and current day. It was great to see him again. The venue was very nice, clean and extremely historic. The restorative work has been excellent. Looking forward to attending more events at the Rialto Theatre!
