About Earthquake
Earthquake Live
Up front and straight to the point is how Earthquake describes his style of comedy. Audiences wouldn’t want it any other way from a performer who’s revered by comedy fans and is fellow comedians alike for his razor-sharp wit and frank, funny take on the world around him. That’s the brand he brings to the Strip for a much-anticipated series of performances at the Laugh Factory in the Tropicana Las Vegas.
Born Nathaniel Stroman, Earthquake earned his nickname from his mother growing up in the southeast of Washington, D.C. After an 11-year career in the Air Force, he decided to develop his comedy career, working as a stand-up in Atlanta’s comedy clubs before breaking through nationally as a performer on the Def Comedy Jam Tour in 1997.
His later TV appearances include Premium Blend on Comedy Central and Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO. He also starred as Uncle Mike on Everybody Hates Chris and appeared alongside Ice Cube in The Longshots.
He continues to tour extensively in the U.S. and Canada, with highly acclaimed performances at festivals such as The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and Just for Laughs in Montreal.
Earthquake Background
A comedian, actor and radio host born and raised in Washington, D.C., Nathaniel Stroman has been better known as Earthquake ever since he was given the nickname by his mother. He joined the Air Force the day after graduating high school, eventually rising to the rank of sergeant. He ended his 11-year military career during the first Gulf War in 1991.
All those experiences helped Earthquake develop the honest and often hilarious style of stand-up that first earned him attention in the Atlanta area in the early 1990s. His national breakthrough arrived in 1997 when he joined Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam Tour. Appearances on such shows as BET’s ComicView led to further opportunities in film and TV, including spots on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Jamie Foxx’s stand-up showcase Laffapalooza!, Weekends at the D.L. with D.L. Hughley and Real Time with Bill Maher. Earthquake also performed the recurring role of Uncle Mike on The CW’s Everybody Hates Chris, starred in Kevin Smith’s Clerks II and voiced the part of Root the Rooster in the 2006 animated hit Barnyard.
Released in 2005, Earthquake’s first DVD About Got Damm Time was hailed as a frank, fearless and hysterically funny demonstration of his stand-up abilities. It also helped cement his place as a favorite of fellow comedians like Whoopi Goldberg and John Mulaney.
It was worth every penny. I laugh til my jaws hurt. I enjoyed every minute
Nephew Tommy and Earthquake were too funny. A. Given and J. Brown were ok.

The Comedy show was outstanding. I am already an Earthquake and J. Anthony Brown fans and now I have become fans of Nephew Tommy and Adele. From Ordering the tickets until I got back to my hotel room, everything was outstanding!

This show was a gut-wrenching,tear dropping performance that I have seen.I laughed the whole entire show non-stop.If you need a got hard stomach hurting laugh this is the show for you. The MC was just as funny has the comics.
The show was cool but the venue was hot. The best comedian was Lavar
I actually bought the tickets for my mother because she loves Arnez J and has never seen him in person. She called me during the intermission and she said he was the 2nd comedian to come up and he was AWESOME! She loved the other comics as well, except for one (which shall remain nameless but lets just say stage name ends with WAKE) so anyway she said he seemed a bit tipsy during his entire performance but overall she truly enjoyed herself and needed the laughs. Great Job and please keep coming back! ATL will always welcome and support ya!
Great comics but strippers highly inappropriate. Would watch them anywhere
Very good show and great interludes courtesy of MC Lighfoot...hilarious!
I hate that people constantly walk the isles after the show has begun. The show began about 30 minutes late which isn't too bad though.
Lavell Crawford, Arnez J and Mc Lightfoot killed it they was so funny Earthquake wasn't hitting on nothing i wouldn't waste my money to see earthquake again.
This was a wonderful surprise how they had this lined up. The show flowed well and every comedian used their time wisely. MC Lightfoot is still the same after all these years MCing in the ATL. I would go again in a heartbeat the next go round.
I LAUGHED ALL NIGHT UNTIL MY STOMACH HURT!! GREAT SHOW. NEXT TIME PLEASE START ON TIME.
My boyfriend and i had a great time at the event. This was our first experience live at a comedy show and boy it exceeded our expectations. What made it so good is that u didnt even get a break from laughing, from the hilarious host and to one comedian to another. I laughed so hard i got a headache. We enjoyed it. It was a memorable for us as a couple and we got our money's worth of pure comedy.
Everybody was funny it was a good mix they all kept me laughing
