About Earthquake
Earthquake Live
Up front and straight to the point is how Earthquake describes his style of comedy. Audiences wouldn’t want it any other way from a performer who’s revered by comedy fans and is fellow comedians alike for his razor-sharp wit and frank, funny take on the world around him. That’s the brand he brings to the Strip for a much-anticipated series of performances at the Laugh Factory in the Tropicana Las Vegas.
Born Nathaniel Stroman, Earthquake earned his nickname from his mother growing up in the southeast of Washington, D.C. After an 11-year career in the Air Force, he decided to develop his comedy career, working as a stand-up in Atlanta’s comedy clubs before breaking through nationally as a performer on the Def Comedy Jam Tour in 1997.
His later TV appearances include Premium Blend on Comedy Central and Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO. He also starred as Uncle Mike on Everybody Hates Chris and appeared alongside Ice Cube in The Longshots.
He continues to tour extensively in the U.S. and Canada, with highly acclaimed performances at festivals such as The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and Just for Laughs in Montreal.
Earthquake Background
A comedian, actor and radio host born and raised in Washington, D.C., Nathaniel Stroman has been better known as Earthquake ever since he was given the nickname by his mother. He joined the Air Force the day after graduating high school, eventually rising to the rank of sergeant. He ended his 11-year military career during the first Gulf War in 1991.
All those experiences helped Earthquake develop the honest and often hilarious style of stand-up that first earned him attention in the Atlanta area in the early 1990s. His national breakthrough arrived in 1997 when he joined Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam Tour. Appearances on such shows as BET’s ComicView led to further opportunities in film and TV, including spots on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Jamie Foxx’s stand-up showcase Laffapalooza!, Weekends at the D.L. with D.L. Hughley and Real Time with Bill Maher. Earthquake also performed the recurring role of Uncle Mike on The CW’s Everybody Hates Chris, starred in Kevin Smith’s Clerks II and voiced the part of Root the Rooster in the 2006 animated hit Barnyard.
Released in 2005, Earthquake’s first DVD About Got Damm Time was hailed as a frank, fearless and hysterically funny demonstration of his stand-up abilities. It also helped cement his place as a favorite of fellow comedians like Whoopi Goldberg and John Mulaney.

The show was Awesome!! The opening comedians were hilarious! 🤣 I laughed so hard throughout the show bringing tears to my eyes. Earthquake, my Ballou Alumni brother was keeping it "Real"as he always does!👏 I thoroughly enjoyed the show! Congrats on your marriage Earthquake!🥂
The show was great. It’s a great place to attend shows. Earthquake was hilarious. I would definitely see him again. The other two comedians was funny as well. We had a great time.
Security was great. The show was just ok. The comedians prior to Earthquake were ok and Earthquake was himself crazy as ever. Would I go back to one of his shows? Probably not.
Great space.too would've been 5 stars but it too too cold .interfered with enjoyment
This was one of the funniest shows that I’ve seen all year, from the first comedian to the headliner. I laughed so much at their performance that I almost fell out of my seat. Bishop, Junior, then Earthquake helluva lineup. The way Earthquake brought AI into his introduction was very creative. If you want to have a good time and have some laughable moments go and see this show 🙅🏾
I really enjoyed myself, it was just too cold there at the MGM, but the show was great ,I had a great time
The lineup was great but not as funny as the last 2 father's day shows
My husband is 1 of the biggest Earthquake fans and over the the last 4 years I’ve been taking him to the Father’s Day show and will continue to do so. We’re always extremely pleased with every show!!
It was a great show full of laughs from start to finish . It was nice to see an established comedian showcasing lesser known talents to expose them to a wider audience ..
Great Show Deray Davis and Chico Bean tore the house down
We Look forward to Earthquakes Father’s Day every year. This fool cracks us up each and Everytime. And the line-up each year gets better. Thanks for keeping up laughing in this time of such hate and pain towards all people in this world…You took our minds off of the nonsense for a few hours and we can’t Thank you enough continue blessings to you and all.🖤
It’s was good time laugh and cry earthquake was great the make everything come right
This was one of the best comedy shows I have attended, and Chico Bean was fabulous; I have never laughed so hard.
It was a great show very funny! We really enjoyed ourselves. All comedians were great.
Earthquake never disappoints. He showed out on his birthday…this was a hilarious show!
Earthquake was extremely funny his opening acts were funny to!
Earthquake was hilarious as always. It was a real treat to see him in person this time. I can’t wait for the next opportunity.
Earthquake was funny, upbeat, and dressed to impress. We really enjoyed ourselves and are looking for more shows.
I enjoyed the early show but to pay $55 per seat and herded like cattle was a little excessive. And no food available for purchase only drinks …I am use to venue prices at shows but $8 for a cup of coke is excessive. Might’ve been a better look if it was filmed at a venue like Morehouse Chapel or even the Ray Charles performing Arts center. Just food for thought ReggieD
