Earl Klugh and his band put on a 140 minutes great show. Each member of the band could have headlined hat night.

Earl Klugh and band were very very good, all #1!

by Jaybeesgirl on 4/27/14Birchmere - Alexandria

It has been about 35 years since I had last seen Earl Klugh in concert, I especially like that he has a great band, with the amazing keyboard player who was just off the charts. The band alone would be able to take a show on the road. Earl is still very talented and a laid back artist who gives you such genuine talent on the guitar. I will count him among one of my best non-vocal artists in my lifetime. GO EARL, keep on moving "I know this is George Benson" on BOARDWAY!! Really thought that the venue was fabulous!! The Birchmere has really made it's mark on venues to go to.

Earl Klugh and band were fantastic

by gremblay on 9/17/13Jazz Alley - Seattle

We went to see Earl Klugh, whom we have been following for 25+ years, and it was great to hear him live, but it was also a pleasure to hear his whole band, especially his sax player who was a stand-out in his own right. All were excellent, though, drummer, bassist and keyboardist -- really a wonderful show.

Mr Klugh and the gang put on a great show. They did a wonderful job engaging the crowd, playing a wide range of selections, and showcaseing each player's talents. Highly recommended.

    Earl Klugh Quartet was Outstanding

by gjazzman on 3/19/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

The Earl Klugh Quartet was one of the best performances I've seen in some time. The crowd could not get enough and I found myself purchasing his latest CD. The Quartet stayed after the concert and signed every CD, autographs, and posed for pictures until the last fan had come through. I hope he returns to the KC area next year.

Great laid back concert. Very intimate.

Very enjoyable. The concert was very intimate. It was a little short at 1 hour and 20 minutes but packed full of music.

    Earl Klugh...and easy night out!

by girlwithtattoo on 1/24/11E.J. Thomas Hall - Akron

I went out with friends to celebrate a birthday. The venue was packed, but not overcrowded. There was a large screen and the stage was raised, so you could see Mr. Klugh from any seat. Although the unimaginative between two ferns setup is boring beyond belief, given Earl's laid-back, non-exuberant demeanor, I guess the stage setup was fitting. The view on the large screen was a bit blurry. He performed hits and a couple of new songs. It was a pleasant concert.

    Earl Klugh fantastic.

by JazzBear on 1/17/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

The interview of Earl Klugh by David Basse started the evening in a very relaxed manor promptly at 7pm. Klugh was much more relaxed than I could have imagined and gave a wonderful interview about how he started and his time with George Benson up to today. He was extremely friendly and has a soft voice. David Basse was excellent as the interviewer and knew which questions to ask. Klugh started his show promptly at 8pm with his quartet, then introduced them after the first piece. He good to his band and had many admirable things to say about them. They have been together as this group at least 10 years. There is no question they play off of each other and allow each other to show their own talents. All of his members had time to play solos and they were incredible. Keyboards sould a wide scope of talent both ib the melody and percussions. The bass guitar showed variety and was played in a manner that could be its own show. The drums were and solo showed talent, rhythm, and scope of ability. All together they blended into an amazing performance. When the end of the first hour came, I was surprised they were coming back after a break. They truly appeared to enjoy what they were doing and did not appear to be just "going through the motions". I would see them again at anytime. They played a variey of tunes from different albums and times in Klugh's career.

by Chairbornedaddy on 1/17/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

Here's the quick and dirty. That show was absolutely fantastic !! I would strongly recommend a repeat performance. All of the musicians had great solo performances and to see Earl who seems to be a very humble guy with a great personality on top of being a very good musician. I'll Be Back !

Stunning Benefit Event For ALS and Deborah Lewow

by Keninga on 4/27/10Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

If you are a Smooth Jazz fan how could you have other than an outstanding event with the likes of Boney James, Mindi Abair and Earl Klugh. Then, to frost the cake with the likes of Joey Somerville and Yonrico Scott made for a magical evening. It was truly a heartfelt event for Deborah and ALS of Georgia. The entertainers really had their hearts into their performances and everyone there could feel the magic of the evening. Sadly it is rare that Atlanta can get top Smooth Jazz Performers together in a single event such as this. When the opportunities do come around, do not pass them up.

    Le Wow!

by Quiltress on 4/27/10Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

This was a LOVE FEST! The players donated their time, and the audience turned out with high spirits to support an ALS benefit event for a very dear friend an business colleague, Deborah Lewow. It was SRO and high energy from the very first tune with Joey Sommerville and Drew Davidsen. Mindi Abair, Earl Klugh and Boney James brought their very best and the house was on its feet many times especially for the all hands on deck finale of the Beatles Tune , "All You Need is Love." The guests came from all over the country, including all three coasts - east, west and south. If you hear of another one of these benefits for Deborah you DO NOT want to miss it!
