Duran Duran have been international pop icons for over 30 years, penning such instantly recognizable '80s hits as "Rio" and "Hungry Like a Wolf." Their concerts are exciting, high-energy affairs where fans can come as they are and rock out to songs that speak to them. Performances are often held in large venues where fans can sit enjoy the ambiance while singing along with the band. Ticket holders were thrilled in 2011 when original band members reunited to cut the band's newest album, All You Need Is Now. Even better, in 2012, Duran Duran released a live recording of its Diamond in the Mind tour, so fans could relive the excitement of seeing the band in person.
Duran Duran's career began in 1978, and the band quickly rose to top-10 status several times over in the early 1980s, in part thanks to being one of the first bands to make music videos for broadcast on MTV. Shortly after creating a controversy with their "Girls on Film" video, which was considered too risqué at the time, Duran Duran decided to test the American market. They proved to be equally popular abroad and at home, and a pop sensation was born. Throughout the '80s and '90s, the band continued to produce new hits. They are best known for "Hungry Like a Wolf," "Rio" and other songs with strong beats and distinctive lyrics. Since Duran Duran has endured for so many years, going to a concert can be a bonding experience for parents and children, who can both enjoy the band's distinctive sound.
That was bad. Just bad. Simon was uninterested and Nick was comatose.
DD is my favorite band ever. First time they were late coming on stage. No apology or words of regret. They let me down. Set list was great and I had a good time nonetheless.
Duran Duran put on an awesome show. They sound great and Thunder Valley was a great venue.
Loved seeing Duran Duran in concert. I grew up listening to them on the radio and it was nice to see them live. Brought back great memories from the past...
The show was amazing! Our seats were absolutely perfect. Hope to see them again soon!
Duran Duran brought the house down. What can I say? It was packed? Everybody was feeling the 80s. And we all had a great time. This is the best band i've ever seen.
i saw duran duran for the third time at thunder valley casino. i was on the floor, so of course it was a great time. DD sounds exactly like they always have, and with so much energy. Simon, a great frontman, and my favorite member, Nick, coolest keyboardist ever. played a great selection of songs. love seeing DD live.
This is my 8th time seeing the men since 1984. Each concert was different than the one before but their performances are always top notch. I love how they are now performing some of the more obscure classics like friends of mine and careless memory. Even If you are not a Duranie like me you will still have an amazing time. I LOVE YOU JOHN..letting my inner teen out!!!
Yet again another epic show Great energy amazing performance and lots and lots of love
The concert started a little late, but that was okay with us. That band was awesome! I grew up listening to their music. It was great to see them in person singing their classic hits.
What a great show, and great memories! The band looks and sounds as good as they did 40 years ago…When I’d listen to them on my mini boombox. Chic was as stellar as always, but Batista could have been taken off the roster. Otherwise, a great experience
Went to see them on a girl’s trip to New Orleans in June 2023 and when I say the pre-teen girl in me was screaming! Holy cow! I did not expect these men to still look and sound as hot as they did in the 80’s!! I was cracking up at the teenagers dropping off their parents at the front of the auditorium and their fan base runs the gamut — old, young, gays, straight, black, white, Latino, Asian, you name it. Walking through the stadium and looking at the crowd, you would have thought you were at an international airport! There was every walk of life in that crowd — no lie. One thing that is for sure—they ran an amazing show and Simon’s voice and John’s biceps are still a thing of beauty! I would definitely go again.
Having seen Duran over 20+ times, I can honestly say they are better with age! Simon's voice is stronger than ever... JT, Roger are the quintessential rhythm section and Nick sonically creates a modern futuristic sound. This latest tour is there most successful US tour in the band's history.
My daughter wanted to get me tickets to see Duran Duran my favorite 80’s band. Before the band announce their America tour she tried to get tickets in England. They sold out so she got me tickets to see them in Ireland. It was the best memory I’ll have forever! A bonding moment with my youngest daughter and to experience Ireland and to see my favorite band! They totally knocked it out of the park! My daughter said out of all the bands she’s ever seen that Duran Duran has the best connection with their fans and to really get into their music and entertain and engage. Best trip ever! Thank you Duran Duran!
I would go see them again! Awesome show! The other acts were also incredible. Bastille👍🏾. Nile Rogers and chic👍🏾👍🏾
I have seen Duran Duran at least 7 times since they played at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1984 (where the Reflex video was filmed). They never disappoint and always put on a great show. I screamed as loud at this concert as I did when I was 13. Brilliant show and the boys are better than ever! Will definitely go see them again if the opportunity arises.
Loved the performance, the setlist, the visuals. I would definitely see Duran Duran again.
One of the best shows I've ever been. The group hasn't changed anything. The performance was stupendous. It was a very memorable show.
Duran Duran was fantastic! This was my first time seeing them. They haven’t lost a beat. Simon still sounds the same. I did not care for the venue. CMAC is a large amphitheater. There are a lot of stairs for people with mobility issues. We had lawn seat tickets. It was packed. People were on top of each other. No regard for personal space or simply being courteous. There was a constant smell of pot all night. Seems safety could be an issue if there was an emergency. Won’t go to CMAC again
What an amazing experience. It was my first time seeing the band (my wife's second). They performed a lot of hits and some new tracks. Love the newest song Danse Macbre. So happy they performed it. They said it was only the second time during the tour. Simon pleased the hometown crowd when he came out in a Detroit Red Wings jersey for the encore.
