    Game on!

by cuemein on 8/14/17Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

My husband and I traveled from Rockford to see a matinee performance of "The Gin Game" at Drury Lane. Paula Scrofano and John Reeger made this old favorite come to life with humor, tension, and some relatable physical stuff. Very enjoyable.

    Better than the original

by Reted on 8/3/17Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

More than 30 years ago, we saw Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy perform "The Gin Game" at the Shubert, and we still have vivid memories of the impact of the story and the acting. Now another married couple, John Reeger and Paula Scrofano, have outdone Cronyn and Tandy, both in depth of performance and release of passions. Having been fans of Reeger and Scrofano for several years, we were not surprised. The gripping final scene brought tears to our eyes. Bravo!!

Play was great, although Ticketmaster tacks on outrageous fees. Food was good, but limited choices

    A Senior Situation

by Cinemafan on 7/18/17Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

The actors were wonderful, the sets impressive. The script was a surprise, I found no mention in the synopsis of a senior retirement situation drama. I felt the content accurate and well presented. However, my friends and I, celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary, were hoping for an uplifting tale of a card game between friends. This portrayal was serious and dramatic.

    The Gin Game

The play was very good, acting was outstanding with both humor and drama. The length was a bit short for the money.

Would not see this play if I had free tickets

by Restandrelax on 7/4/17Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

Play left me feeling in despair; the plot was fine but the ending was disgusting leaving no resolution to the problem.

Gin game is on the mark, Thought provoking !!!

by Whatshisnameski on 6/28/17Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook Terrace

An afternoon away before our 41 Wedding Anniversary turned into one of the most remarkable rides home from a truly passionate performance. Having spent nearly 10 years in 2 different nursing homes attending my in-laws, the artists hit their mark on depicting real life in the "Home". Even the folks portraying CNA's were true to life in their roles. Thank you to all for putting on the realistic masks of those who live their sunset days as best as they possibly can. We are still talking about the play.
