Rating: 1 out of 5Very Dated Production, no one under 50 will get it
by mike009 on 6/28/16Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace - Oakbrook TerraceThe venue is very nice, seating comfortable and acoustics agreeable. This production however is desperately dated with references few under 40 or 50 will get (I surveyed several 20 somethings and a few 30 somethings to see if they knew what a “Carbon” was – they did not). A few of the essential plot twists are not the least bit surprising or shocking, however likely were in the 1970’s. The acting was marginal at best, however the portrayal of the psychic living next door was horrendous and embarrassing – it was like trying to watch your great grandmother imitate a man trying to pass a stone. I will admit I cannot give a full review of the entire production because I left at intermission (I believe the character of the psychic reappears in the 2nd act and I just could not bear to be there for it). I would seriously think twice before spending even as little as $50.00 a ticket for this play.
