About

Dru Hill is back! This smooth and sexy R&B quartet became a household name back in the 90s, thanks to hits like “How Deep Is Your Love” and the solo career of Dru Hill member Sisqo. Now, with a new album coming in 2014, and a successful live show, a whole new generation is falling for Dru Hill. In concerts, they still show off the signature mix of cool R&B and hip-hop sung in flawless four-part harmony, with original members Sisqo, Jazz, and Nokio joined by new addition Tao. Their set includes a mix of old favorites and new tracks, like “Love MD," off their 2010 album "InDRUpendence Day."

Live shows have always shown Dru Hill at their best, ever since they were snapped up by Island Records when a scout saw them singing for crowds in a Baltimore-area fudge shop. After being snapped up, their 1996 self-titled debut album went platinum and spawned their Top 5 debut “Tell Me” and No. 1 hits "In My Bed” and "Never Make a Promise.” They soon became one the hottest tickets around, distinguishing themselves from many of the '90s era boy bands by writing their own songs, producing their own records, and displaying serious singing talent. Their second album, "Enter The Dru," went double-platinum, but the band’s bleach-blonde dancing machine Sisqo was attracting attention all on his own. Dru Hill parted ways for a while, but now they’re back and eager to prove themselves once more. "InDRUpendence Day" quickly climbed up the Billboard top 30, and now the band will be touring the US throughout 2014 and getting ready to release its upcoming album, "The Second Coming."

    Excellent Show

by KimRoberts on 3/30/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

The opening acts were forgettable, but the main act was simply amazing. They put on an excellent display of dancing and vocal talent and sang some of their biggest hits. The crowd was totally into it the entire time. The guys payed special attention to their fans up front by singing to them, grabbing their hands, smiling at them and more. They even posed for pictures with fans after the show. The venue's sound quality wasn't great but the show definitely still was!

Dru Hill, they've still got it!

by HausofRae on 3/30/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

After waiting 3 hours and suffering through two bad operners for the group to come on, Dru Hill proved they've still got it! The few years they've taken off didn't hurt their performance skills or their voices any. The group sang classics like "Beauty" and "Tell Me", their new single "Back To The Future" and closed the show with their hit song "5 Steps". My biggest disappointment was that Dru Hill only sang a few of their own songs and about 4 or 5 cover songs (including hits from Stevie Wonder. While Sisqo sang "Billy Jean" as a tribute to Michael Jackson, squined glove and all). Being the Dru Hill fan that I am and seeing as though they only actually performed for about 45 minutes, I would have liked the 20 minutes spent on other artists songs dedicated to some past Dru Hill hits like "Apil Showers", "I love you", We're Not Making Love", "What Do I Do With The Love", "All Alone" and "One Good Reason". All in all, I will say that for their first show in a long time they did a good job and I look forward to their next show!

    Disappointed.

by MadDisappointed123 on 3/30/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

VIP apparently just meant "not standing." The group wasn't out for very long and it seemed like a very disjointed performance. I loved this group, and while they were very courteous to the audience, they didn't seem to do much in the way of pleasing them.

    Dru Hill Rocked my socks!!!

by Roxxy17 on 3/30/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

The venue was nice; decent amount of room. Although, it was very hot. I didn't enjoy the opening acts...they could have picked better openers. As for the show itselfe...L-O-V-E!!!!! They performed all the classics; I would have liked to hear some new stuff, however. The MJ tribute was amazing; boy group tribute great! Dru Hill really has talent; I'd pay to see them any day over these non-singing groups these days. 2 thumbs and big toes up! ;p

    Dru Hill

Awesome show, but way too short! The live band is always a necessity for these types of shows. The sound system/mixing may have actually been turned up a little too loud at the expense of the sound quality.

    Dru Hill Sound Great!!

by MikeD19658 on 3/30/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

I would definitely see them again. My only complaint is they sung one Jodeci and one BlackStreet song. They have enough songs in their catalog to sing their own songs.

    They can sing!!!

by Nussy on 3/4/10House of Blues - Atlantic City

The prior reviews complain about Dru Hill starting an hour late. The tickets clearly stated that the doors would open at 8pm, that does not mean the artist will begin performing at that time. Venues will open the doors at least 30 minutes before the show starts for two (many more) reasons...(1) It allows time for customers running late and (2) They want you to buy alcohol and food, which they will happy sell you. As far as the concert, Dru Hill was great. They did not perform whole songs, but they sang all their past singles. Each member had a chance at a solo and Sisqo, Jazz and Tao killed it. I enjoyed their tribute to MJ and appreciated the love for Woody. Dru Hill has performing with Jodeci, so their cover was not surprising. The concert lasted for about 100 minutes (which felt short because I really enjoyed the performance). The ending seemed very abrupt, they finished their last song, said "Thanks, Goodnight!" and they were off. Their exit left me a bit confused, since they did no encore. Lastly, something was definately up with Nokio. His behavior on stage was very strange (unenthusiatic dancing, pathetic singing, sitting on stage). It seemed as if he was under some influence...to the point that Sisqo had to take over Nokio's only solo. Overall, it was a good performance for a group getting back together with a new member. I hope they continue to make great music and they do not attempt to make new age pop music which they have flooded YouTube with. Dru Hill you are one of the greatest R&B groups of all-time, don't ruin that! 1

    the sound crew sucked

by mbLT on 2/18/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

DRU - HILL VOCALS COULD NOT BE HEARD BECAUSE OF THE TERRIBLE SOUND SYSTEM AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES, EVERYTHING SOUNDED TOO LOUD AND MUFFLED. ALSO WAITED 2 HOURS FOR DRU- HILL TO COME ON STAGE, AND THEY ONLY PERFORMED FOR 45 MINUTES.

by FCKelly on 2/17/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The concert was wonderful...Dru Hill made everyone feel appreciated for taking the time to come & enjoy their music. They thanked the audience as well as spending time to speak with a few of the patrons. I would definetely see them again as well as any show at the House of Blues Atlantic City. GREAT EXPERIENCE..

    Dru Hill

by BirthdayGirl212 on 2/16/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The show was to start at 8pm, it started around 9:15pm. They sang some of their hits and then Sisco sang a Michael Jackson tribute (okay that was acceptable) and then the group started singing songs by other group like Jodeci! It was confusing to say the least ! Woody is no longer with the group so they shouted him out and let the new member have the spotlight (he can sing). Then they sang two more songs and said goodnight!!! WTF! the whole show was only about 45mins long... remember we waited OVER an hour before they even hit the stage! Needless to say it would have been more enjoyable and less expensive to just have listened to their cd's at home!

    It's DruHill

by BearBone on 2/16/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

First off I love Dru Hill I've been a huge fan since the mid 90's, plus I'm from Baltimore. The concert was just to short for my liking. They didn't sing the second verse to a lot of the songs. I wish they would have performed longer than 45 mins, as long as I've been a fan I just felt a little jipped.

Dru Hill on the Come back!

by SoClassy on 2/16/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

This was an amazing concert. The only problem that I had with the show was Dru Hill being on stage for 45 minutes. They did not sing their songs all the way through, they would sing a quarter of the song and then go into another song. I was expecting them to be on stage for an hour and a half or two hours at least. To top that off the show was suppose to start at 8pm and did not start until 8:50pm. Other than all that stuff everything was fine!

The show at the house of blues was terrible. The concert was suppose to begin at 8 and did not start til 930. Once it started it seemed like to was over. The show ended at 1020, leaving the crowd stunned and angry. I would like recommend this show to anyone.

OMG! What happened to Dru Hill?

by sese10 on 2/15/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

I have always been a huge fan of Dru Hill. I have all of their albums and know all the words to their songs. Ive seen them perform in the past at a free concert about 2 years ago and it was excellent. This concert however was different. The singing was on point but they only sang 6 of their songs while doing ok renditions of other groups hits like Jodeci and Blackstreet. Sisqo attempeted to pay tribute to Michael Jackson. While the dancing was ok , he did not sing his best on Billie Jean! They took at least 4 breaks during their half an hour show. Poor Jazz looked like he was gonna have an asthma attack any moment and took extra breaks on top of the breaks that they were already taking. I for one was very surprised at their performance.Iexpected more from them especially since they haven't been out for quite a while. I would not pay to see them again and there are many other people who were at that concert that would agree with me.
