How to Train Your Dragon was fantastic

by LoveDragons on 7/3/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

The How to Train Your Dragon live show is a must see for anyone who loves the movie or just dragons in general. I wanted to reach out and touch the dragons; they were so real looking. The choreography between the movie screens and the action by the actors was amazing. My children stared in awe at dragons flying through the air. A very magical show and not one to be missed!!!

    Dragons was incredible !

by BobHart on 7/3/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

Close to the film version, but so much more entertaining when you see them flying around an arena. Good cast. Great dragons. Could almost swear they were live, with head movements and eyes blinking. Complete with fire and smoke coming out of their mouths. A MUST SEE if you enjoyed the film.........................

    Truly amazing for all ages!

by ttreva on 7/3/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

This was such an amazing, creative show. What they did with screens was unlike anything I have ever seen before and the out of the box thinking used for things like the water scene really makes me think this was done by creative genuises. From age 3 through 37, everyone in our group loved this performance.

    AMAZING SHOW!

by DragonLoversMom on 7/3/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

The visuals and special effects were absolutely incredible. Those dragons couldn't have appeared more real if they WERE real! After awhile we didn't even notice the cables or other things that reminded you that they were, indeed, just mechanical. A truly beautiful show. We're thinking about going to it again when it comes to Buffalo! :) SO WORTH THE MONEY! The only downside was that we weren't allowed to take pictures. It would have been nice to have them for our scrapbooking and to share on our facebook page. Could have been great publicity for the show.

The detail to the dragons was amazing! Be wary of "nosebleed section" we didn't get to enjoy a lot of the special effects since where where seated above the lighting level. "Best seats available" were definitely not, half the arena was empty. Otherwise, my son loved it !!!

    Fun

by Acrobatyearsago on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

The visual effects were outstanding. The dragons, especially Toothless, were really "cool". They were extremely natural right down to eye blinks and ear flecks. To see them flying was great fun. Our major drawback to the show was the beginning. Being older we don't hear as well. Add to that a child behind us who kept talking. If we hadn't seen the movie we wouldn't have known what was going on. One small note: I didn't know Vikings did break dancing! Anyway, it kept things lively.

How To Train Your Dragon was disappointing

by DrEli on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

Althought the size and detail of the dragons was spectacular, nothing else about the show was. Except for the lead actor,it was difficult to hear or understand the other actors. The story line was all over the place. If we hadn't seen the movie we would never had known what was going on. Now on to the technical difficulties. Ten minutes into the show we had our first 20 minute delay. Then a 20 minute intermission turned into a 45 minute intermission due to further technical difficulties. There are definitely lots of issues to get ironed out in this show. It could be a good show, but it seems like the producers put all there chips on the size of the dragons to carry this show so to speak. They didn't seem to put any thought into the rest of the show.

    Amazing!

by karensara56 on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

Show was as exciting as it gets! For children (those that are old enough not to be frightened) and adults! The show with the live performers and the cinematic back drop takes you to another world!

    dragon

by Inticia on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

The first half went by with just a little hiccup -toothless had a little technical problem which was fixed in less then 5 minutes. The graphics and the dragons were spectacular! Too much echo when the adult vikings were speaking. When intermission came - it was susposed to be 20 minutes, but lasted 55 minutes due to more technical difficulties. They did a poor job of keeping the audience informed. Several people left the show. According to what I read in the paper, this was susposed to be a 2 hour plus show. However, the second part of the show only lasted about 30 minutes.the first part was about an hour. Overall it was a very good show. Was not happy about paying $10 to park the car - give that 2 thumbs down.

    Visually Stunning, Audibly Muddled

by CharlieXxx on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

Right from the very onset of the production the visual effects were amazing. I had never seen anything that even approached the visual effects which this show delivered. Sadly, I could not hear very much of the production. It was very muddled and difficult to understand. I believe that this was the result of acoustics in an indoor arena but it still detracted from the enjoyment of the show. I also noticed that the majority of the higher priced seating sections were empty. It seems to me that the price point for this show was too high for the target audience.

Cool show, but several technical glitches

by Jamanix on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

The dragons are very cool and the lighting effects were top notch. Only downer is there were several technical glitches including one where a dragon apparently just shut down mid-scene. The intermission was almost an hour long while they worked on other technical problems.

We would go see the Dragons again!

by queenofhearts223 on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

My husband and I took our 3 year old son and I think we had just as much fun as he did! He loves the film and knew exactly what he was watching because the scenery and the characterizations are so true to the movie. He wasn't afraid of the dragons at all and was completely riveted, as were we, when they were onstage. The actors and acrobats were all very talented and entertaining and the show maintained the true heart and message of the film aside from being technically amazing.

    blowing smoke?

by DocLou55 on 7/2/12Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza - Wilkes-Barre

This should have been a better show than it was- that simple. The acoustics were terrible & I don't know if it was this particular arena but we really couldn't understand much of the muffled acting, which took away from the show quite a bit. We had a 20 minute delay for a technical glitch, followed by 10 minutes of show then the planned 15 minute intermission & any momentum the show was building was gone. The dragons were terrific, the special effects were outstanding, but the audio issues dropped the entire show down at least 2 notches.
