Amazing live. The sound was incredibled! One of the best live bands I have seen in a while. Moment of silence for 911 in NYC. (Well they tried!).
I can honestly say that this was the best show I have ever been to at the House of Blues. The opening bands were awesome, and Down put on an incredible performance! A group of about 8 of us went, and none of us left disappointed. If they come to a town near you, it's a must to see them, and it is well worth it!
Down is the greatest hard rock band. This band of men bring an energy that is unparalleled in an industry that is primarily focused on record sales and pop riffs. The metal god leads the crowd to music Valhalla as we are carried into this warrior heaven on the power of the riff. Down is flawless in delivery and is never short on delivering heavy hammers. Down is truly a religious experience...without the bible.
This show was simply awesome. I little different crowd than I am use to but it was alot of fun. Weedeater opened and were very heavy and enjoyable, especially the drums. After hearing the years of hype on the Melvins they certainly lived up to their reputation. Interesting band and set. Down played about 14 songs. Playing my favorite 3 last. The Outro to the show was amazing. Great bunch of guys, great bunch of musicians. To bad Rex couldn't be there playing bass.
Melvins opened and were really good. Down played great. Phil was on point. Will absolutely see them again. Hope Rex takes care of whatever he needs to get done.
Phil Anselmo is an amazing singer with a range that you don't normally find in his style of music. He did an awesome version of Judas Priest's The Ripper that would have made Rob Halford proud!!! The meet and greet was awesome and the whole band are really great guys that really love their fans and what they do!!!
This was by far the best Down show, Phil's voice sounded great and the band was tight.
Down put on an awsome show. Kinda unusual to not see a packed house at the HOB. A first for me. Check them out if you get a chance.
Ultra-heavy, ultra-powerful. Down is the sum of its parts: Crowbar, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Eyehategod. They come in two versions: heavy and heavier. Melvins are the kings of heavy: two drummers, one bass, one guitar, and a wall of sound. Incredible songs, incredible vocals. Maybe the most underrated band ever. Opening act Weedeater also brought the heavy. Good stoner metal, as their name suggests.
This is an amazing line-up with all four bands playing awesome sets. Pay attention to Haarp, they are a band that really is good. The Melvins were amazing. Down is the main event of the night and they proved that by playing an incredible set which includes favorites like Stone The Crow and Bury Me In Smoke. I bought the VIP experience and it was worth it. The sound check and meet-n-greet should be valued as priceless. I highly recommend everyone to experience this with DOWN.
I just frickin' LOVED the show!!!!! drove 3 1/2 hours to get there, got into a little traffic and missed Weedeater, unfortunately i caught The Melvins, sorry guys but i've never been a fan. Then DOWN rocked the house.I Missed Rex (no disrespect to the replacement basist, but I LOVE PANTERA!!!!and still cannot fathom the idea that I'm never going to see them again.Heartbreakin!!!!anyway, thats a whole different story. Back to DOWN,once again THEY ROCKED!!!!!! Phil kept saying "Damn, what a great vibe!!!!!" they played almost 2 hours and then hung out on stage right after the show.with Phil giving us an accapella version of "Stairway To Heaven" Can't wait to see them again!!!!
All four bands were excellent. Got my ears introduced to Melvins in a big way! Awesome. I've been wanting to see Down for years. Man, what a band. Phil is a phenom. The musicianship is truly cohesive. The Center Stage is a first class rock venue. Going back for sure .
The band was on point and sounded so tight. The venue the crowd everything, best show ever. DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! House of Blues bring DOWN back on the next tour.
Down has always put on a awsome show! This was the fourth time for me,but buy far the best yet.
Paid the extra cash for the VIP meet & greeet & they Broes did not dissapoint! Took time to talk with their hardcore fans & signed autos & took pics & were all total class acts! I told Phil I had seen him perform around 20 times & it had been a loooong time since Ive seen him perform sober & was lookin forward to that & the told me "Im gonna give you 20 shows worth tonight Brother!" & he delivered on his promise! Played lots of tracks from the NOLA disc & some gems from the last 2 & were really in amazing form! Phil applauded the audience about 100 times telling us how much he appreciated the crowd & back when he wasnt sober he used to berate the audience so it was a great change of form for one of the most dynamic frontmen in metal! Kirk & Pepper were in the pocket & really seemed to enjoy themselves. Both Kirk & JImmy were in the crowd almost the entire Melvins set watchin them perform & I found it interesting to see them as fans themselves as they really soaked up the Melvins set! Weedeater opened the show with extra amounts of energy & really set the bar high for the night!
Awesome crowd, full house, Down was absolutely thrilled with the turnout and audience participation and returned the favor with a wicked show. Setlist: Eyes Of The South N.O.D. Lifer The Path New Orleans Is A Dying Whore Lysergik Funeral Procession Losing All Ghosts Along The Mississippi Pillars Of Eternity Hail The Leaf Nothing In Return Temptation's Wings Stone The Crow Grinder (Judas Priest cover...1st two verses and chorus) Bury Me In Smoke
All the bands were awesome, Weedeatter's sludgey sound was powerful, Down's crowd was extremely pumped up which makes the whole thing exciting however the melvins have been one of my favorite bands for years and it was my first time seeing them, they were great the duel drumming was amazing, dale crover is an insane drummer and the guy drummin with him is just as amazing. my only disappointment was that the melvins did not play Night Goat or Honey Bucket over all i had a great time
I purchased the meet and greet package!. The band was very cool. The entire performance was just awesome! The sound was perfect. Service was a plus.
DOWN was awesome. One of the best concerts i've been too. No bad seats at Center Stage.
This was my first concert ever and it was amazing!!!!!!
