About Dover Motor Speedway
Dover Motor Speedway has hosted exciting racing and entertainment events for national and international guests for more than 50 years.
In 2024, the 1-mile oval nicknamed the "Monster Mile" hosts another NASCAR tripleheader weekend, including the Wurth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race. It will be the 106th NASCAR Cup Series race at the track. Dover is one of only 10 tracks in the country to have hosted 100 or more NASCAR Cup Series events.
Dover has also hosted the Firefly Music Festival, an event that sees more than 50,000 fans each day and more than 100 acts playing across multiple stages, since 2012. In 2024, Dover Motor Speedway will host the latest Phish festival from Aug. 15-18.
Notable acts that have appeared at Firefly include Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Outkast, The Black Keys, The Killers, Jack White, Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Mumford & Sons and Post Malone.
History of Dover Motor Speedway
The green flag dropped on Dover Motor Speedway events on July 6, 1969, when Richard Petty won that day's Mason-Dixon 300 by six laps.
The Speedway's high banking - peaking at 24 degrees in Turns 1-2 and Turns 3-4 - provides a difficult challenge for America's best drivers, teams and equipment, leading to the track's famous Monster Mile moniker. The banking also provides the high speeds found at Dover, making the Speedway the World's Fastest One-Mile Oval.
The Monster Monument at Victory Plaza, Dover's famous 46-foot statue, has welcomed fans to the Speedway's Fan Zone since 2008. The base of the 40,000-pound Monument showcases plaques honoring every race in track history.
NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson is the all-time leader with 11 Dover Cup Series victories, followed by NASCAR Hall-of-Famers Bobby Allison and Richard Petty with seven apiece.

Dover Speedway is one of my favorites, what’s not to like about a one mile concrete high banked oval? Fast speeds with multiple racing grooves makes for a fun race to watch. The fan zone has something to keep everyone entertained. Anytime I’m in the area and there’s a race I try to get over there.
My Grandson Jayden and my daughter Helena and myself had a wonderful time Would like to take my family back there again
I enjoyed my first ever Nascar race event. It was the 50th anniversary for Dover International Speedway and I'm sorry that I missed all day events surrounding it. It The seats were perfect as was the weather. Thank you Xfinity for the complimentary tickets as I look forward to coming back next year.
This was my first race and i loved it. It would have been nice if you mentioned on the ticket to get earplugs. it was so loud. I was worried about the children.
The walking distance is far & not enough carts/taxicabs for customers to travel back & forth
I know the NASCAR Race event in Dover was AWESOME. However, I was not able to attend.
This was a fantastic event. Lots of variety outside the venue area and nice to have golf cart drivers asking if you would like a ride!
It was a fun day with lots of things outside the stadium. My first NASCAR race and it was interesting but hard to follow. I do better watching tv where I know what’s going on
First time for my son at the race. great seats nice weather,my wife got free passes from comcast.
Great experience. Wish parking would have been closer. People working the race were very nice. Seats were awesome!!
It was me and my husband's first time at the Nascar Race Event so we didn't know what to expect but we really enjoyed ourselves. We'll probably return again in the future
This was my first race with the Nascar series and it was so awesome. Thanks for such a great experience.
It was the most exciting and magical sporting event I ever went to. I am ready to go again. The outside events and vendors was perfect for the venue. This was a childhood dream come true. The energy and comraderie of the crowd put a halo on the moment. I appreciated the older fans there that help me understand the workings of things. This is truly a wonderful time for family and friends. My son said he will definitely be getting some friends for a trip to a racing event. It was one of those "who knew" moments.
First experience and my family loved it. We definitely going to make it part of our family experience
Shout out 2 Xfinity for the tickets took my seven-year-old son and he had a blast! He enjoyed the Roar of the engines. Nascar has a new fan!
NASCAR was awesome as usual. Seats were excellent.
