    Doo Wop Extravaganza

by Frankiesangel on 7/16/12Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

Absolutely wonderful show Dick Fox always does a great job should have more shows like this at Bethel. We had a great time. They should do a tribute to our troops at every show.

    Doo Wop Extravaganza

by Vin48 on 7/16/12Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

Great show that ran 3 hours. The show was in the Pavilion and I would recommend purchasing the seats which where very comfortable vs. the lawn chairs. If you are not familiar with Bethel Woods it is the site of the 1969 Woodstock Concert, they have a wonderful museum dedicated to the Concert which is worth seeing without a concert. The site is managed beautifully. This was my first concert there, we have been in a similar type of setup in another state so we were a little Leary that it would be cramped, but we were very surprised how comfortable the seating and leg room was. We sat in the mezzanine center. See a concert there, you will not be sorry.

Kenny Vance and the Planatomes were wonderful.

by Anonymous on 3/13/12NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

The show was wonderful, and it brought back great memories. All the acts were superb. One was better than the next. We are Kenny Vance fans so we really enjoyed their performance. We enjoyed the show and would definitely go again. That is why we purchased the 2 day pass. However, we were disappointed that we paid more by purchasing the tickets for the 2nd show at the same time as we purchased the tickets for the 1st show. At the show they were selling the tickets for the second show for $75 for 2 tickets. We paid $90 for our 2 tickets. I will not buy a 2 day pass again.

    Doo Wop Rocked!!

by Luscious777 on 3/12/12NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I was pleasantly surprised...It was even better than expected!! I enjoyed all of the old favorite groups, the Passions, the Classics, the Mystics, and of course, the incomparable Kenny Vance. But I especially enjoyed seeing the Crickets, listening to all of the old Buddy Holly songs....They were great musicians, but no one could duplicate Buddy. All in all, it was a GREAT SHOW!!!

    Do-Op Concert

by Bobcat2001 on 12/6/10NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

The Do -Op Concert on December 4th was fabulous. I have gone to may shows over tthe years and I feel this is the best one yet. The place was rocking all night. Willie Winfield danced and sang like he was 17 again. The Tymes were my favorite group when I was young. They did not disapoint . Lou Cristie was excellent also. He still has it.

    It was ok

by Lynnespock on 12/6/10NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Some good acts, some not so great. Uneven distribution of how you saw the acts; I saw more of their backs then their faces. There should be more handicap accessible areas and some how make it easier to get a wheelchair up a ramp. We had two companion seats to a handicap area for our third party in a wheelchair but we were three seats away from where she was sitting, so it was like she was sitting alone. If I had known these were not together, I wouldn't have bought them as they were not cheap seats, although they were the last row.

    Doo Wop Extravaganza

by WasSweet16 on 9/27/10NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Larry Chance as the Emcee was a perfect combo of knowledge and entertainment. All performers were great and it was a exceptional plus to see my all-time favorites, Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners. I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding performance of the Tokens. They could keep Bobby Rydell - he can still sing, but his performance is patronizing. I felt he was playing for an audience of 80 year olds!
