poorly done, even the kids were bored way over priced
Our two daughters-- 1 and 3 years old-- were enthralled by the constant audience interaction and the songs were clever enough that the adults (at least these two) enjoyed the show as well. Hats off to Emerald City Theatre for a wonderful production. The three-year-old can't wait to attend your camp this summer!
Great introduction to the theater for children. My daughter is three and a half and loved it! She wants to go again and was able to sit through the entire play (it is a little less than one hour in length). She had alot of fun and we are looking forward to our neighborhood theater hosting more plays based upon children's books. Also note that we purchased one of the least expensive tickets due to the fact that we were not sure if she would be able to sit through it and because the theater wasnt crowded we were able to move up to better seats.
We love Mo Willems and all the Pigeon books, so seeing this play was wonderful! It was the perfect length for my 6 and 8 year olds, and they were on the edge of their seat the whole time. So glad I found this for our trip to Chicago!
We attended the show with our two boys ages 3 and 6. We love Mo Willems' books and thought the play did a wonderful job of adapting them for the stage. The whole family enjoyed the recurring jokes and audience participation. The three actors were excellent. We especially liked the craft activity before the show which concluded with a visit with Duckling on stage. My one criticism is of the music. I thought it was a wonderful idea to use well known classical pieces with new words. However, the words went by so fast that even the adults had a hard time following them. The kids lost interest during the music, not because it wasn't well done, but because they simply could not understand the words.
The play was very cute & had a good message. My 6 year old enjoyed it!. The length of the play was perfect!
Don't Let the Pigeon drive the Bus was not only fun and cute but a HUGE teaching moment for all of the children and parents attending. As a teacher I believe that children can learn so much from viewing the Pigeon's tantrums and understanding that being told "no" can be for their good purposes. My family and I are still talking about the play! I'd also like to add that the Duckling was absolutely precious and REALLY worked her costume to make the character so real.
This show is so clever, fast paced and fun. Our kids ages range from 3 - 8 and there was something for all of them. The songs are hilarious and so well performed. A must see for any Mo Willems Fan.
Mo Willems knows how to appeal to kids' senses of humor! Characters were lively and funny; and actors put just the right amount of "vaudeville" into their performances. The pace was quick and just long enough to hold young attention spans.
Our four-year-old really enjoyed the show. The cast seemed to be having a great time too.
