  • Boring and slow

by Iman2 on 7/29/14Harrah’s Resort SoCal - The Events Center - Valley CenterRating: 2 out of 5

Went to see Donavon Frankenreiter after being invited by a friend. Paid over $40 per ticket, only to find them giving them out for free at the casino. The opener was excellent. The venue was very nice as well, however Donavon Frankenreiter could put just about anyone to sleep. Very dull, no stage presence whatsoever.

  • Always a FUN show

by gsparky on 12/31/13Belly Up - Solana BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Donavon is so fun in concert it's a must see. He played a lot of his hits and two new songs. I know hes' great in concert but sometimes I forget how good till I am there.. The crowd was very reserved that night ?? Will see him anytime I can !

  • What a great night of great music!

Wow! Donovan Frankenreiter was amazing!!!!! Such a talented guitarist, lyricist, and vocalist. He was nice enough to come into the crowd after the show and take photos with fans too!

Amazing! Did not want the night to end! Karina Skye opened and she was incredible! Great atmosphere and the music was unforgettable! Hope to see Donavon in concert again ASAP!

Love the venue, he was great and it was super laid back

Despite an incident that sent the drummer to the Emergency room just minutes before taking the stage, the show was FANTASTIC. The way the band came together and improvised in order to carry on with the show was impressive. Even Donavon himself took a back seat on the drums for a bit to give his guitar/harmonica player (who filled in on the drums) a chance to come front and center and do his thing. Later in the night Donavon's young son took a seat at the drums to a huge crowd applause. It may not have been the show they planned, but the end result was an even greater admiration from the fans and at no loss to the quality of performance.

  • Exceeded Expectations

The concert was better than I thought it would be, and he sounded exactly like recordings. Very entertaining and would see again!

Really enjoyed the show. First time at the Culture Room. Had a blast. Person I brought never heard of Donavon and walked away totally stoked. She ordered 3 of his CD's on amazon.

The venue is Good, i like small places for a concert. Donavon was good but kind of out of his mind sometimes, and the guy did not look himself. But overall was a good show.

This show was awesome! I love small venues & the Bowery is a perfect place for a show. It was my first time seeing Donavon in concert & he didn't disappoint! It was also great to share this show with an awesome person who had never heard of Donavon or his music & he really enjoyed the show. I hope Donavon comes back to NY & I definitely recommend you check him out!! p.s. Mia Dyson rocked it as well. Look her up!

It was amazing! It was at a small space, very cool!

  • by Anonymous on 1/1/13The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 3 out of 5

This was my first time attending a show at the Canyon. The music was great. However I was not pleased with the venue and service provided there. I paid extra for VIP tickets that had no perks over the standard tickets. It took 20 minutes for a server to ask for a drink and dinner order and when the food arrived it was sub-par and overpriced. I honestly do not think I will ever return there for a show. My wife and I were happy to spend the night together but both agreed we would have rather gone somewhere else.

  • Great music - better musicianship

by FightingGypsiesOne on 11/18/12Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Wife and I on vacation and 25 years older than rest of crowd. Had a terrific time. Been going to concerts for a very long time and not sure have seen better musical performance since the Eagles. Perhaps best drummer we have ever seen. Donavon himself a terrific guitarist. Second lead guitar/harmonica player a revelation.

What an amazing artist playing in a pretty cool venue.

  • Donavan Frankenreiter

by Anonymous on 11/18/12Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

It's unfortunate that a late start and a poor choice of location made me leave what would have been an AMAZING show! I waited 2.5 hrs for the artist to come on. The ticket did not indicate that 2 opening bands were to precede Frankenreiter (even though both openers were very good). I just didn't expect to wait an hour before a band came on. By the time Frankenreiter came on, I was tired of waiting and tired of standing. I heard 2 or 3 songs and then left. I think a more suitable choice of venue location would have made a HUGE difference. Either an outdoor event or a music hall would have been more appropriate. It was to small of a location for the crowd! His music is meant to be enjoyed!

  • Donavon des it again....

by Minoosh on 11/18/12Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

As always, his music , the lyrics and the entire energy of his fans are what makes donavon so great to see. Small venue and great music always the perfect combo.

  • AWESOME SHOW!!!

    by CurlyCue7 on 11/8/12Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I discovered Donavon Frankenreiter about six months ago via my Pandora station for Jack Johnson and I immediately feel in love with his music. He's one of those artists that you just love every song. Usually I wouldn't buy tickets to see someone who I just discovered but Donavon is another story!!! Donavon & his band are very talented and know how to put on a good show. Donavon interacted with the audience the entire time and was actually playing request after request! Their music is so different compared to everyone who's out there right now. I love all the different instruments they use. It's got a folky/ Hawaiian/ islandy kinda of vibe. It's was just really up beat and so laid back. He gave out his new cd, Start Livin, to everyone at the show! Which I must admit I didn't know a single song on it and now I've listened to the whole cd and absolutely love it. That doesn't happen very often! Also the venue, Paradise Rock Club, is awesome to see a show. You get your hand stamped and can actually come & go as you please. Also it's a small venue so you can always get right up front. My only complaint is that it gets quite hot in there... should have some fans for circulation.

  • Laidback party!

by MissAmsterdam on 11/2/12Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Musical surf was up tonight with Donavon Frankenreiter! Superrelaxed concert, nice atmosphere; this dude draws a huge audience in Amsterdams most popular venue. Can't believe most of Boston missed this gem (dont let the moustache fool you), glad we enjoyed the royal intimate party!
