    it was awesome!

by BarbaraW on 2/12/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Gene Watson and The Farewell Party Band is GREAT!! If you get the chance see them. I will definitely see them again if I can afford too. The Rodeo is Awesome. Liesel the clown is the BEST!! he will keep you in stitches laughing so hard. I would like a little more of him. The cowboys are awesome too. There is nothing bad about it. It is definitely a family oriented entertainment. There is something for everyone to enjoy. It's good clean fun. You get your money's worth.

The Rodeo was fantastic! The coliseum needs work. The sound system was awful and 2 of our seats were broke.

Not what it use to be

    by SharpOldNo7 on 2/11/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

I’ve been attending the Dixie National Rodeo since about 1979. I haven’t been every year but this year was no where near what it has been in the past years. There was very little rodeo to watch. The music entertainment was terrible. I like Confederate Railroad song and was looking forward to hearing them. Whoever was mixing the sound did a terrible job doing so. We could not hear the words they were singing and the music was so loud it was way overpowering the singer. We left after the third song. My teenage son who loves country music even said let’s go as I can’t understand what they are singing. It was terrible. The only good thing about the entire rodeo was Lecile Harris and Mike Mathis. They always do a great job.

    We had a good time.

by Bev on 2/11/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

We enjoyed the rodeo...we did feel there was something missing from last year. Last year we went to the evening show. We missed seeing the man with all the rope tricks....

    My Experience

by Kim on 2/11/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Rodeo was Too short. The man was so monotone and rambling on I couldn’t understand anything he said hardly. All the horse trailers parked at the front door The vendors could have been placed in a better spot but close by All steps inside the Coliseum need a rail. That’s should be a necessity. I had to hold on to folks I didn’t even know.

    Great Birthday Fun!

by Melissa Downs on 2/11/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Had a great time at the rodeo and concert afterwards. My daughter has asked that we make this a yearly event for her birthday in February. This year it happened the day of her birthday, which was exciting for each of us. We were disappointed that we couldn’t get signatures and pictures with the band after concert, like last year. That was her favorite part for her birthday last year. Thanks to everyone for the great entertainment!

Super easy to use the app!

by Cavscout on 2/11/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

It was really easy to use, and did not have to keep up with paper copies of the tickets.

    I’ve seen better

by Mom of 3 on 2/10/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

There weren’t very many riders for each category. Maybe 4-5 in each. The security was slack. We saw girls sitting on the wall above the bull shoots. A huge fight broke out during the concert. The concert wasn’t great. The amps were too loud and we could barely understand the singer. He was drowned out by all the bass. They serve beer. There were so many young people drinking, so naturally they're going to get in a fight. They were throwing their empty cups on to the concert stage while the singer was entertaining. Again, security was way too slack. Those teens should have been thrown out.

    Dixie nationals 2020

    by Fur-Mama on 2/10/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

This year the show was much shorter than previous years. Not much entertainment from the rodeo clown, unlike previous years. I still enjoy going, I just noticed a huge difference in time and entertainment this year...

    Dixie National rodeo

by Lesa on 2/10/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

The seats need to be replaced before there is another event at the venue. Lots of the seats were broken. Concert was great. Was surprised there weren’t more than 4 participants in most of the rodeo events. Also was looking forward to see the 4H club kids chase the calves but it was not part of the activities on Friday night. All in all it was good.

    by R. A. on 2/9/20Mississippi Coliseum - Jackson

Great family fun!!!! They put on a great show and you can tell they put their hearts in it. Hard working people who love their work. Could go back several times if money and time allowed.

Everything was great. The new improvements to the facility are nice. Tracy Byrd and his band were great. Sound was good. The whole rodeo event was very nice.
